Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Im looking to get my 2010 XJ serviced. I usually go to England but unfortunately I dont have the time this year. I refuse to go to the main dealer in Sandyford due to poor previous work. I am not afraid to spend, but I want someone that will actually respect the car and do the work to the expected standard.

a car like this should really only go to main dealer - no one else will have experience of it and you will need fjsh to sell on unless you are keeping for a while . yomac cars in glasnevin sell a lot of jags and specialise in servicing/ repairs. why not travel to bolands in wexford ?

I drive an older XJ6 and tend to do my own repairs, maintenance etc. A different kettle of fish as it's a keeper/ hobby and so, service history isn't an issue to me.

However, I had occasion to travel to Galway and while there, arranged to drop in to the main dealer to have a new key programmed. There was a minor issue with this but they persevered and got it sorted, having first explained fully the problem and likelihood of a successful outcome. I also had the TPS/ CKPS calibrated. I found them to be efficient, on the ball and showed a genuine interest in my car, as opposed to it just being "a car".

And for the time and effort they put in, their cost was very reasonable. Just my experience.

I'd recommend a good indie, like Yomac in Glasnevin. They have the OEM tools and diagnostics anyway. I do my own servicing, but bring my XK8 to them if it needs anything "odd" or specialised doing to it.

Why not head up to Charles Hurst in Belfast?

I travel to Belfast to get any work done on my BMW 3 series at Bavarian. Couldn't fault their customer service, and they went above and beyond a number of times for me. They genuinely care about customers and want them to return, unlike the dealers here in Dublin (not as cued in on customer service, couldn't care less for the most part). So it's not that uncommon.

This is the workshop manager in the Galway dealers, which might explain your experience with them.

I've been using Bradleys for years (never a jag, unfortunately), and have always found their service department excellent.

I get you, I was just wondering if the OP means England England or the North.
If the North then I could see why he would.

The reason I go to England is because they respect and appreciate the marque. Im not saying that anyone who has dealt with any mechanics over here haven't had a bad experience, but sadly I have.

    Well deserved in my opinion.
