Don't think I'll make it to any of the U.K. dates because I'll be returning from England to Ireland on September 14th after some weeks over there.

I have seen Ryan solo in Cork Opera House, The Olympia and Belfast's Waterfront in recent years but still the best for me was Ryan and the Cardinals in the Ambassador in 2008.

Would love if he made it over here for a full band show or 2, the setlists from his current U.S. dates are a great mix of old and new.

Does anyone know who's currently playing in his band? It would be amazing to see Benmont Tench plying his trade in a small venue with Ryan.

    Pretty good show here
    http://www.npr.org/event/music/332030079/ryan-adams-live-in-concert-newport-folk-festival-2014

Think having a band helps discipline him. Though his gig in the Shelter (small sub-venue of Vicar St) was gloriously ramshackle with him making up songs on the spot.

Hope he comes over here though if not i'll head over to the UK.

I think it's the best venue in Dublin.

I think the Olympia is a bit of a disaster comfort-wise when they lay out the seats on the floor. At the Ryan Adams gig there a few years ago, my knees were literally digging into the seat on front of me. My longer-legged OH had to throw her legs across one of mine, Ryanair ain't got shít on the Olympia!! Still though, it was a fantastic gig. As for floor standing when the seats are clear, it's hard to beat the Olympia for a gig.

Don't care though, I would happily go to see Ryan Adams play in Ballyagran Bingo Hall.

It is shít when they put the seats downstairs all right.
Standing can be great if you get in early for a pit pass, can be shít if you don't get a spot away form the main walk ways

Fingers crossed he does Dublin... Unlikely he'd come all that way just for 3 gigs. Never seen him put on a bad show at all but prefer him with a band. Pity he and the Cardinals wouldn't make a record and tour again. Listened back to their gig from The Ambassador a few years ago.. Superb stuff.

I like the Olympia as long as I'm standing or in the first few rows of the circle.. Otherwise it all feels you are quite a ways back from everything. Love it if Ryan did Vicar St for a change.

A regular player on my Ipod, that version of 'Goodnight Rose' and the jam in the middle of the song is blissful.

The Ambassador was brilliant for a gig IMO, pity it was closed down. I was only at a handful of gigs there - Ryan, Death Cab For Cutie and Serj Tankian, but there didn't seem to be a bad spot in the house and the sound was always great.

The closing extended epic guitar rock out version of "i see monsters" from that gig is the one my next door neighbours have got well used to over the last few years since that night.:o

I See Monsters at the end blew me away that night...

    Disappointed no Irish gigs announced.
He usually was loyal coming over here in the past, and had no trouble shifting tickets either.

Is there any prospect of an Irish date at this stage? If not, you would wonder why he is skipping it this time. He usually plays a couple of gigs here when he's touring in Europe.

He said on twitter, he said he would see us next year

I might have seen that had he not blocked me for saying, and I quote; "Enjoying the new Ryan Adams album but, man, the cover is awful".

    What a precious d*ckhead.
Next time I might skip his gig for the first time ever.

wow, you'd think he would have a thicker skin than that. You are right though, it is bad cover.
