Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Go in for Yarmolenko then, think someone posted he had a better goal return when we where in for him back in January.

I'd say Owen would be well up that list too.

Owen had at least 50 league goals by the time he was 21, bunch more if you include his cup goals.
Good massaging of figures there by whoever did that list, most likely an Everton fan trying to justify to himself that the amount spent on Lukaku wasn't 10m too much

Would imagine he would be at around the 50 goal mark, but would have to sift through some stats to get an exact figure and am too lazy to do so right now.

Do remember that he hit his first half century of league goals quite young though.

Edit: just noticed that Charlie got the Owen figure and it was 55 goals.

    Sterling
    Markovic
    Sturridge

Don't belive Twitter all the time and do some research.

Not on his timeline and his account is @TonyBarretTimes with an 's' that is missing in that tweet.

"I love Borussia, but I cannot rule anything out," Grosskreutz told Sports Image. "It would be a dream to play for Liverpool at some point. England is a dream for any footballer."

He's basically a more versatile Reus anyway.

I've read a lot of tweets about Markovic on Twitter. They range from he's just being rested, to a month out, to 6 months out with torn knee ligaments, but who's to say which one is right?

The first one, the first one is right.

Not sure, these baseball pitches just don't look right for football. Like they're playing on a sideways or hexagonal pitch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

I don't understand why we have to play on a baseball pitch. What's wrong with all those massive American Football stadiums? Is it because it's too logical for the Americans?

The stadium cost $1.5 billion to build and has a 49,642 capacity.

Just read that Ryan Bertrand has joined Southampton on loan. Thats good news at least.

Wasn't a serious comment, but he's also played both positions on the left too.

I think Großkreutz would be a great signing for us. He has everything Brendan wants in a player: high work rate, plays multiple positions, good passer and great on the counter attack. Surprised we haven't at least enquired about him.

Has to be Lovren and Sakho at the back

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

    It's pre-season.

Absolutely no way I'm watching a penalty shoot out.

Can looking like he'll make an impact this season too.

We actually look much better without Gerrard on.

BR shouldn't be playing Gerrard this much. He has Started most of last season and just came back from the World Cup.

I think he should just Rest him for all our Preseason Games, or maybe just give him a Half Hour here or there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,629 ✭✭✭googled eyes

    Yeah, so Mignolet....

That gives them so much confidence in the knockout stages of CL.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,391 ✭✭✭PhiloCypher

    Yeah, so Mignolet....

Shocking distributor of the ball. At one point after gathering up the ball after a city attack he looks upfield and seeing no out ball to spring a counter attack. He rolls it to a still surrounded Hendo 5 yards outside the box rather then holding onto it and clearing his box.

    Boss shot stopper tho mind.

Brad Jones pretending he's gonna do a quick throw after every save…the tease.

Going by recent form, it looks like it'll be Sterling and not Sturridge who's going to be our main man this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,366 ✭✭✭✭8-10

They do play about 145 games a season there though! :p

    81. And up to 10 more if they get to the playoffs. Ticket prices are crazy expensive there though, as well as the concession stands which make the real money

You could be right but you should not make full judgements based on meaningless pre season games.

The older the player and more preseasons they've been through, the less effort they put into preseason matches.

Looking forward to the season ahead. I think we will finish in the top 4 and anything else will be a bonus, Think UTD wont be great this year again, Think LVG will alienate a lot his squad and it will take him a few seasons to gain any foothold there, Arsenal will struggle also, Think spurs will do well they have a cracking squad and for once they have a manager who keeps his head down and seems to get the best out of players, kinda like a BR mark2.

Still think our squad is thin with experience and would be worried about all the new players coming in and upsetting what was an excellent team mentality and spirit last season.

Think Can will be a monster of a signing and he is the one I am most excited about. Really looking forward to seeing Sterling this year I think were going to see a new dimension to his game and don't laugh but I think in time he will become just as good as Suarez.

I think we have one thing Chelsea/man city do not have and that is players who have things to prove and that will give us an extra edge over them as I think most players choose them more for wages than prestige.
