Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They are probably still active on the alternative thread in a pocket universe, whereas this thread is the main thread, thread-616 if you will.

Not sure we are allowed to discuss who has been banned. They are all saps and aren't missed anyway.
And I mean sap in the non-nice way.

once we sign balotelli, do you think we need to sign anybody else? do you think we will sign anybody else?

i will be quite happy with the squad after his signing. i must admit that i was very worried for us when suarez was going to barcelona but fair play to ian ayre. zero to hero in 3 months!

    We really need a keeper.

I guess the good behavior clause must be true. Here's a pick of him ACTUALLY training in Melwood earlier

We really need a keeper if Mignolet get's injured.

He may be replaced at some point but it won't be this season.

“He had been with Nigel de Jong as they live close to each other and put the dog next to him in his Ferrari and was driving crazy — so fast that the dog was out of it! The doctor of Milan said ‘you can’t do that, you can’t drive him in the Ferrari so fast as he’s not a human being, he’s different’. It was really funny.”

Mario Balotelli deal not officially confirmed by either #LFC or Milan but the player training at Melwood in club gear suggests it's imminent

The excitement might be misplaced but any doom and gloom certainly is.

    It's utterly without risk.

To think 2 weeks ago this place was in a panic as to whether we would have enough time to bring in another striker :pac:

Seriously though, with himself, Markovic and Lallana all set to come in, I think the squad is in the best shape it could be given the fact we've lost Suarez. Whether we'll be good enough is another matter, but I genuinely don't think we have done much wrong in this window.

Another strong central midfield option would really improve my outlook.

    Mig - Jones

    Johnson - Moreno - Manquillo - Enrique - Flanagan
    Lovren - Sakho - Agger - Toure - Coates - Ilori

    Gerrard - Lucas - Henderson - Can - Allen

    Sterling - Lallana - Markovic - Coutinho - Suso - Ibe
    Sturridge - Balotelli - Lambert

Looking at that, I think we will be involved in some late departures coming towards the end of the week. Agger / Lucas / Enrique / Suso are players who could improve clubs around the place. Of course, if we lost Agger and Lucas I'd say we would need additions in lieu...

    Great window

I am ****ing delighted with Balotelli. He knows this is his last chance at a big club and he is an enormous talent. €16 mill was bloody robbery in today's market too when you compare it to other transfers. He could well be the difference this year. On a side note I didn't realize how good he was at set pieces, scored quite a few for Milan from what I've seen.

    training on a Bank Holiday.

    lazy bastard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

also, the £16m fee is ridiculous considering you just know that his shirt sales will be pretty impressive.

the money will be made back in no time.

Yeah he's great at pens and free-kicks although he's unlikely to take pens at Liverpool unless Gerrard isn't playing.

Even if he doesn't work out Liverpool will make a lot on shirt sales through him and will still find somebody willing to pay 10-12M for him afterwards.

    Minimal financial risk anyway.

This could be Liverpool's "Cantona" moment.
All mad geniuses need to be loved. Rodgers can do that and this signing could be the turning point in LFC title challenges for years to come.
Its gonna be one hell of a ride though :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,219 ✭✭✭✭Pro. F

Balotelli is a great signing. He doesn't look like a good fit for Liverpool's hard working style, but he's got so much quality it shouldn't be too hard to make something work. And if he goes off the rails then it's a small fee being risked.

For pure entertainment I'm delighted to see him back in the PL, I just wish he could have signed for Aston Vila or somebody instead.

Really curious to see how Balotelli, Sturridge and Sterling will play together. Surely that will be the first choice front three?
