Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That's the way its usually said but Jordan has said he pronounces it differently. So commentators will eventually get it.

I still chuckle at least seasons "Dick-a-Choi" suddenly becoming "De-cash-we" when they realised their mistake. :p

Because his father was a fan of Bond. Making it James...not Hamez.

It was dubbed in South America
"Dee name eez Bond, Hamez Bond."

Hamez is the correct phonetic spelling of the Spanish name James.

Correct. However if you are named after James Bond by your father, as is the case with Rodriguez, than it's not in fact Hamez. Its James.

Knowing is half the battle. :)

The yanks chanting is comical, it just sounds wrong....

Coates is another. His da is English and it would be 'Coats', as in get your coat, not Co-ah-tez as it is pronounced.

Their World Cup chants were absolutely comical, "I believe that we will win".
I'm sure they spent all night coming up with that. :pac:

Wonder would they say that about us lot anytime at a football game up and down the country when we break out into a chorus of "who are ya, who are ya?!" in our finest English accent!:D

Markovic is actually pronounced Morrissey. Dad was a massive Smiths fan

Coates should have bicycle kicked that. He should bicycle kick EVERYTHING.

I love how Wenger pronounces Callum Chambers, heard it from him today:

    "Sham-bears"

    Classy.

You didn't even spell it right. Dirk Kuijt.

I think this is a ploy to sneak on an extra man

Don't forget Dzeko. He was "zeko" for ages before they moved on to "Jecko!"

Im just not ignorant. If my second name is Smith and I want to pronounce it "symth" I can, but people are going to get it wrong everywhere I go. If Jordan pronounces his name differently, hey its his name. Go nuts. But commentators will get it wrong.

Anyway, the only people seemingly upset about it are Liverpool fans. the man himself doesn't seem to care.

I still don't see why you're getting annoyed about the pronunciation of Ibe when it's the same as vibe or scribe.

Also I'd say you must hate Tim Cahill.

Even by pre season standards this a poor game, but I still won't go to bed.

Gerrard does seem to really slow down the play and then hit a long cross field ball, need a bit more urgency from him.. (although he's prob just in pre-season mode)

Lovely pass by the count and a sweet strike into the corner by Suso... nice

Nice finish from Suso, he has looked impressive. He looks like he could be ready and he is still so young.

It was an anti coutinho shot almost, lovely finish suso

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,910 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

There might be room for Suso or Ibe in our squad but not both. Send one on loan

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,634 ✭✭✭jenno86

No way do I want Ballotelli anywhere near Liverpool. The guy is a waster.

Top save. He may not fill you with confidence with the ball at his feet, but Mignolet is a world class shot stopper.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

didnt even break a sweat in that game... easy..

    tidy goal that.
it's going to be interesting with Suso to see if he stays and gets some games.
he's still young but you just get the feeling with him that he needs to be given the chance this season or he will move on.

He didn't look fit and he didn't seem to be trying to impress Rodgers anyway.

I would keep well away from him we don't needed any more headers on the squad after Suarez leaving.

Fairly easy win that, some good performances to take forward and more food for thought for rodgers.
