Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Aubameyang playing an absolute blinder here against Bayern. We really should be looking at him, he's versatile too so he can fill a number of positions.

No I heard he's made 57% of his buses, compared to Lamberts 63%. Suppose that makes Lambert a better bus boy?

Seemingly Shaqiri was asked before the supercup about a move and he said he fully expects to stay at Bayern, looks to be a no go for now.

As I said yesterday I don't mind Eto'o as a stop gap while waiting for a top class striker to become available.

If we have to wait till the January transfer window or next summer for that to happen.

Chelsea used him the same way last season till they got Costa.

I would still like to get a RB and a keeper as well.

We have 3 RB's now. 4 if you include Kelly.

Either way that's more then enough

    Borini Update
The idea was to have the deal done a few weeks ago, but for different reasons it was impossible, but we are confident that maybe in the next few days we can do something about Fabio.

Flanagan; is great as cover for both fullback positions but I would prefer and upgrade on the starting right fullback.

    Johnson; no one trusts.

Manquillo; is a gamble and could be gone in a season.

Kelly; is more than likely gone.

I reckon Eto'o wouldn't be the worst choice. I personally would prefer Eto'o to Lavezzi. Imagine seeing him score the winner against Chelsea. Plus he knows his way around European Competetion, he's played with enough clubs to.

Still not a priority. Not with likely 3 RB's already in the squad on the first weekend of the season.

If Rodgers goes for a RB it will probably be next Summer once Johnson leaves.

    Coutinho--
    Sturridge

Subs: Jones, Enrique, Sakho, Lucas, Allen, Lambert, Borini
    Unavailable: Flanagan, Markovic, Lallana,
Out of Squad: Toure, Suso, Ibe, Robinson, Assaidi, Ilori

Not sure there's any value in including Lucas over the likes of Ibe.

    Allen provides midfield cover.

Delighted that Toure is staying. We need a few experienced guys around, especially with talk of both Agger and Lucas going, two of our more senior players.

Have you posted anything inside here that's worth noting? Wind up merchant at his finest I suppose.

Who do you reckon we should have up front then?

    Daniel Sturridge
    Samuel Eto'o
    Rickie Lambert

Next year remove Eto'o and add in Origi.

All of whom are at a level that Shane Long has only ever seen on his videos of MOTD.

What is it you think you have contributed?

I think the Eto'o move for Origi sounds like a solid idea, although Origi may need a year or two to settle in so might need someone for 2-3 years rather than 1.

Answers your question also I hope. :)

I see lots of pundits making their predictions and most picking Chelsea as Champions and Utd to make top 4 at Liverpool's expense.

I don't really get this as I'd still see Liverpool's squad, even without Suarez as better than Utd's.

Really? I'm a Liverpool fan and think Uniteds squad is stronger.

Their goalie is better, our defence is better, their midfield is better and their strikeforce is better?

If they got half the players they have been rumoured with you would be worried!

    Woodward is a godsend.

Chelsea bet the house on Costa.

Writing off City seems nuts to me, see people picking them as 4th place. Yikes. If ain't rosey at Xmas the cheque book we be out.

The City squad has quality in spades, the only player they cant afford a long period without is Yaya. So we should burn down their bakery.

Not a chance their midfield is better as things stand.

As an outside observer I can say with absolute certainty that I'm surprised by Coutinho and Sturridge. (frowny face)

They're World class and they're not trying to force a transfer or a new contract, publically.

    Amazing :)

There midfield is weak. Playing Mata and Rooney is going to be a problem for them. januzaj and Herra have potential, the rest..meh

Defence and midfield I do not. Especially midfield.

Where would he rank in relation to the Shane Long→Fabio Borini scale?

    http://www.irishtimes.com/sport/soccer/english-soccer/emotional-alberto-moreno-conflicted-about-liverpool-move-1.1896177

“I am living a strange situation because I’m leaving the club of my life,” Moreno told ABC de Sevilla “I was always aware of the two teams (trying) to agree. I never got into that but Sevilla have understood that Liverpool’s offer was good and I am going.

“(I have) many feelings together. What happened on the pitch, with the fans, will remain forever etched on me and I could not help but mourn (the departure) because I did not expect it. First came the parting with colleagues, then with the fans...all very complicated.

“Liverpool are a great team and of course I’m super-motivated. I hope things go well.”

Same goalies as last year and I think our improved defence could give Mignolet more confidence this season.

Don't see how their midfield is better as many would regard that as their weak area and I think Liverpool's is better.

Strikeforce may be better but ours is not bad either and I'd expect more to come in.

Utd haven't signed anyone yet this week and I think jumping from 7th with the squad they have is a big ask.
Also don't understand why City are being ruled out by many. They are the champions, have lost no key players and should be favourites.
