So I got a job as an independent contractor for a company which was supposed to be flexible & just in my local area. Instead I'm being given jobs at the last minute which are not that close. You should request mileage or at least a higher rate for taking on the job.
Other than that, you're independent so why would you take on unprofitable jobs? It doesn't make a lot of sense.
