Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There may be a simple answer to this!
Basically,a family member has applied for a test, but their learners permit expires in 4 weeks.
    My questions....
    (1) Does the tester need to see the current learners permit
    (2) As you surrender the old one as part of the process, what provisions are in place while waiting for the new one to arrive?(ie if you get a test date before your new permit arrives)

Obviously this might not happen as the test date might be ages away but forewarned is forearmed.

    1) Yeah they will look at your permit before the test and make sure it's in date. If it isn't they won't go ahead with the test and you will lose the fee.

    2) I'm not sure - i'd give the RSA / NDLS a ring and see

They will need to have a valid learner permit with them on the day of there test. If a test date were given while a person was waiting on a new licence they would have to postpone it. Get the licence sorted asap or contact the RSA and request a test before the current licence expires. The later may not be possible if the test centre is fully booked up.

They may get lucky and get a cancellation test-date in this time-frame.

    1) Yes they do. They will take down the details from the current licence and input into computer device
    2) The NDLS will provide a receipt to say you are waiting on your licence. This will NOT suffice on day of test though. They have to have a physical licence with them on day of test for the tester. No receipts allowed.

~ They could apply for their new permit as soon as possible with greater chance of having physical licence back in time for the test.
~ They would have their confirmation letter/email that a test has been booked so that should be okay for them to apply.

Wish them well in their lessons & ultimately the test,
