Well 10K has a type anyway.

And now we're seeing what was said last week about big herds moving from one end of the country to the other.

Interesting development on Murphy with him biting. Wonder if he has to bite or if could just be saliva or blood exchange.

Was wondering why Matt looked familiar. He was Joan's brother in Joan of Arcadia.

Another good episode this week. Looks like Murphy is turning, but just really slowly. Not sure he is going to be the big cure that everyone thinks he will be (but the guy he bit last week didn't turn, so it's hard to know).

I think things are going to come to a head this season, so I don't know what they'll do for season 2.

    Citizen Z is very annoying.

I still can't stop thinking of him as his character in Big Bang, the thespian that Sheldon hired to play his drug addled cousin, who was allegedly in need of an intervention, so Sheldon and Leonard could avoid going to Penny's singing performance in a musical (or something along those lines).

Not sure where they are going with the Citizen Z thing - this week's story was obvious and gave us nothing

Murphy seems to be able to transfer this immunity to others - provided he doesn't have to kill them first.

His comment about the herd needing a leader was interesting. His becoming very cold-hearted now - this interaction with the mother/child etc was disturbing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,733 ✭✭✭squonk

Yeah the mother/child thing was just terrible. I'm losing any warmth or affinity I had for this character. If he wasn't the great hope for humanity I'd love to see him get a bullet between the eyes. I wonder is he becoming a kind of cross race, part zombie, part human? He seemed to want to get out of there very quick though so I don't know really. The Citizen Z storyline this week was a bit meh but there isn't a heap they can do with that character I think.

I think it's good though that the show has a bit more to it's repertoire than killing zombies each week. The new Murphy angle is very interesting and, to be honest, I wasn't expecting anything deeper from the show so it's a good thing to see. I'm still a bit disturbed over his actions with the mother and child. It was very deeply wrong.

This is shaping up to be one of the best new shows for me really!

Murphy is getting a God complex I think.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 4,664 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hyzepher

if he does have some influence over the Zombies then I think his God complex may have the rest of the human race at a severe disadvantage.

Wonder what would happen if he bit a zombie

The latest instalment, for me was an awful annoying episode of television. Move on from this one quickly please.

started out as a decent episode but got repetitive and grating at the end plus no real development to the central plot

Weird episode. More like the kind of standalone episode that you'd see on Stargate or Star Trek...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,733 ✭✭✭squonk

It didn't do much for me either. I actually thought they were trying to do an Edge of Tomorrow type thing but in the end I was just confused and didn't care. I think they also wanted to take time out to do some character development except that this isn't the kind of show where I'm interested in rounded out characters. The premise and main draw is slaying zombies in gory and inventive ways. Hopefuly this episode is an outlier rather than the start of a trend. The show has been of such quality so far I'm willing to give them a pass on this one. At the end of the day, I know they probably have to do some character development to keep things iteresting in the long run and it's good they tried to do something different but let's just all forget that now and return to business as usual next week!

I fell asleep watching it. confusing!

I was enjoying this show until this episode. And I thought The Walking Dead was bad at character development... Hopefully they pick up where they left off. If the herd has passed the main group, presumably Addy and Mack will have to come up against it at some point too in order to reunite with them, that could be interesting...

    Nuclear Zombies :D

It's back on track this week with the group and another crazy story.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,012 ✭✭✭✭Alfred Borden

The last two episodes have proved to be very weak for me, perhaps running out of steam.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,444 ✭✭✭DMcL1971

I'm definitely still on board. Last week wasn't great but I really enjoyed this weeks glow in the dark zombies.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 845 ✭✭✭red dave

Yeah last weeks episode was the low point in the season for me. Back to form this week for sure.

  • Registered Users Posts: 629 ✭✭✭sparkthatbled

This is exactly why I like this show. I'll spoiler the plot twist since nobody has posted that they've seen the nuclear episode yet
The only guy who can stop the nuclear plant from meltdown is named Homer!
Had to pause it to have a good laugh at that one...

Once I saw the main crew I figured we were back to business as usual however once the glowing zombies appeared I knew it for definite! About all I ask from this show is crazy ways to kill zombies each week and they certainly delivered this week again. I suppose the show will run out of steam at some stage since It's a 1 dimenstional show about killing zombies but I'm still in and loving it! I've lost interest in Zomie Apocalypse Romeo & Juliet now. I'd prefer if they stuck to the broader team.

Wow, Kelly McGillis has really gone down hill since Top Gun.

Great episode though. Murphy and the blonde were hilarious.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,912 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

This show really shouldn't be as good as it is.

It puts some of the big budget tv shows made to shame

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,733 ✭✭✭squonk

While that episode was airing I IMDB'd Kelly McGillis. I remember her fondly since first seeing Top Gun when it was released when I was little more than a speckly teenager. I knew already time hadn't been her friend but I came across a photo of herself and Maverick from a film launch lately. What a comparison between that and the stills from Top Gun! :)

I'm not sure about this week's episode. It wasn't bad but I'd have liked to have seen more zombie bear and the biker didn't prove as useful as I'd expected. The ending with Mac chasing after Addy was a bit strange. I hope that's the last we see of those two because I think, on balance, their storylines havne't been really delivering much but I sense they'll be back. In all I thought this was the second weakest episode really.

What's happened the approaching Zombie wall? If it's past them now I think they didn't manage to convey just how serious it was. Then again I'm probably thinking too much into the show really!

Hah, zombie bear, they did it again! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,313 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Kinda happy we only glimpsed the zombie bear since it did look badly done.

As for the zombie wall/zunami, isn't that what they waited out in the morgue a few episodes ago?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,080 ✭✭✭✭Micky Dolenz

Been watching it from the start. And I love it :D.

Addy and Mack are a bit painful but hopefully we won't be seeing too much of them from here.

+1 MD. Given the much lower budget compared to walking dead, it's impressive enough. Yea there were low points and slowdowns, but overall pretty good IMH. TBH though I liked the walking dead since the get go, it's beginning to slow right down for me and I'm finding Z nation more fun.

    Viagra Zombies.

A really interesting episode about Murphy and his powers.

Next week is the last episode of the season I hope the get a small bit bigger budget but not to much.

I feel the low budget helps the feel of the show.

The writing has been very good and thats what they need to keep the focus on next season as well.

He'd already done it with zombies and saw his bite affect another guy, so he probably thought he would just experiment with his kidnappers. Also the reason he said Mercy was unnecessary when Roberta said she gave it. So his bite and fluids are the cure. Just wonder what would happen if he bit a zombie.

Interesting about the doctor. Seems to imply she may have been involved in the outbreak.

Now if only someone had started attacking the zombies with a crowbar while they were in Mesa

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,080 ✭✭✭✭Micky Dolenz

Murphy is growing into a very interesting character.

I like that the outbreak is 3+ years in and everything is still powered up, including road signs, and that they constantly run out of ammo but you never see where they restock from. The best part is, I don't really care that much :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,733 ✭✭✭squonk

Drugged up zombies! Brilliant! I'm so sorry that it's the last episode of the season next week. They've created a fine show here. I'm just so afraid now tha the break for Season 2 will see an increase in budget, perhaps a change of writing staff or some committee/think tank workshot on the future direction of the show and we'll end up with something that's just not quite of the quality of the first season.

the power thing did occur to me as well. Who cares though! It's a show abotu killing zombies and as long as they keep getting ammo somewhere who cares! :)

Christ it's everything I ever wanted from a mindless show, well it and Banshee are but I probably take Banshee a little more seriously. This show is just 40 minutes of 100% pure enjoyment. Can't say fairer than that.

This is the last show in the world to nitpick about. I don't care about the million plot holes as it's just so corny and brilliantly entertaining (apart from anything to do with citizen z).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,537 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

    Bat. Shit. Crazy. Finale.

    I liked it. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,444 ✭✭✭DMcL1971

Great finale, I can't wait to see what happens next.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,912 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

There are better shows out there.

But I really don't think there is a more fun, crazy, ludacris & down right entertaining season of tv this year out there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,313 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

This was a series that should not have been as enjoyable as it was. It's not even in the so bad it's good category. It's just good.

Mad finale. Don't know how they can get out of it.

One thing that confused me though is they just left a pharmaceuticals building with pharmaceuticals in the van yet they tell your one they'll get antibiotics for her?

    Crazy but brilliant TV.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Last minute save by some greater as-yet-unannounced power I assume? Bat**** crazy fun finale.

I know Murphy bit Sunny, but what how did that save her and make her extra strong and a bit odd? Just one of those Z Nation things?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,733 ✭✭✭squonk

I was wondering how the girl ws suddenly looking sickly. I hadn't realised Murphy bit her.

Thank goodness we've got a Season 2! I'd have cried if the show ended like that! There's nothing I can say really. That finalé was just crazy! Great end to a great season! A show I expected was going to go to complete hell turned into the best show I've seen for entertainment value in ages. Roll on Seaosn 2!

Murphy only bit her when he 'went in to say his goodbyes' and she then got better and killed the soldiers. I'm not sure how that turned out the way it did.

    just started watching this today

2 eps in and im not sure if i can cope with the terrible acting. Arguably the biggest star and best actor doesnt last very long. I reckon he saw the rushes and said he had to go home cos his cat was sick or something.

Please tell me it gets better......................

Not really but that's the attraction in some ways. It's so bad it's great in a lot of respects, but plenty of entertainment for the most part.

Personally I thought it improved from "so bad it's good" to just good.

For me it went from "Its pretty alright" to "It's frickin' great". :)

    Finished season 1

no one is going to win any awards for acting but it defo got better

the least they could do is show a bit of skin.......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,313 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

They did. Did you not see Murphy's skin on the ground at the end :pac:
