It is surely worth underlining the Leapcard Initiative for the New Child Leapcard running from the 11th August until 24th August.

    http://childleapcard.ie/

All CHILD Leapcard users travel FREE :D

Of course if a 16 year old really does want to make that step into the Adult World, then all they have to do is rummage around for coins, thereby stating their claim to a €3.05 14 Stager....no problem Boss :)

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

The fact that there are "stocks" of child Leapcards and that these might "last" seems odd...

I mean if the leapcard is to provide an integrated ticketing system, it should be better than cash. I never heard of people spending cash "While stocks last" and I'd have thought there's be leapcards made for people for the foreseeable future...

Does this mean that any number of three to zero aged children are free on leap services?

its the free cards that are "while stocks last"

you'll still be able to buy a leap card after the free ones have run out.

kids under 4 are free anyway, don't need any form of ticket.

On Luas you have to pay for children after their third birthday: http://www.luas.ie/child-tickets.html

On Irish Rail it's children under 5s free on intercity only -- Dart and Commuter the cutoff is under 3: http://www.irishrail.ie/contact-us/faqs?i=4256

    Dublin Bus it's under 4s: http://www.dublinbus.ie/en/fares--tickets/fare-information/

    On BE it's under 3s: http://m.buseireann.ie/index.php?id=237#li_237

More gimmicks to force the leap card instead of letting passengers vote with their feet.

    Unregistered leap cards are fungible.

If the nta said they had a limited amount of free cards, that would be better/ more truthful

People seemed initally unaware of this but were quickly onto their smartphones to investigate further on the 44 bus I was on yesterday where the driver was explaining it over the microphone.

Give that man a job in marketing:pac:
