I did it with this crowd http://www.skydivesf.com/

It's down near Santa Cruz and is amazing, i really will NEVER forget it. You dive between Santa Cruz/Monterey and have amazing views The only thing I will say to you is that this time of year, up and down the coast there is a lot of fog, which means that trips can be cancelled on the day. The fog is a daily occurrence, especially in August.

    Another option is http://www.bayareaskydiving.com/

It's in a slightly more boring area (flat farm land) but could be enjoyable as well

Good point. Fog is certainly an issue. And it can be very very localized. Some parts of the coast can be fogged in most of the summer while others get none. And it happens all the way up the west coast.

Just going by Airports. (I'm a private pilot who used to live in the Bay area, but didnt fly there much) I'd avoid any outfit based in Half Moon Bay or Watsonville. There's probably going to be fog there so it could be unpredictable.

Sonoma should be fine. And its in the heart of Napa Valley so you can combine the two sightseeing trips. Also San Rafael or Napa.

If they're more than about five miles inland it should be clear.

Watsonville. I bet the views were amazing.

Watsonville airport is inland a few miles so I dont know how much fog it gets but I know they had to change the date of their big annual air show to October because of better weather then. I used to live in Aptos just a few miles north and on the coast and it would sometimes be foggy for days at a time in the summer.
