Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ipad price difference

    Hi all,can I ask has anyone bought an ipad from apple.com rather than apple.ie if yes was there taxes and other charges involved it's just that I've noticed an ipad on apple.com it's $399(€297) and on apple.ie it's €389 and will they work fully in Ireland ?thanks in advance

    It will work perfectly in Ireland but will come with a US AC plug (can be easily changed).

    Apple won't let you buy it unless you have a US address or pick it up in an Apple US store.

    Plus even if they did sell it and post it to you, you'd more then likely get stung for customs and would have to pay VAT at 23%, an admin fee and possibly customs duty of a few percent as well which would reduce or cancel out any savings.

    ... and the prices on U.S. websites don't include the state's sales tax which can be another % on top (eg. California sales tax is 7.5%).

    If you know someone who's visiting the states, ask them to bring one back for you :D
