Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That United defence needs a lot of work and at least one more starting CB who is comfortable on the ball.

Anyone watching this on fox sports USA? The Guinness ad is ridiculous

Yeah, Jones foul was a clear penalty on seeing those replays.

Stadium has turned into a nightclub for half time, looks deadly craic!!

    Half time show is nuts.

A disco has apparently broken out on the field....

Liverpool's pressing has been pretty good for a pre-season game. Have pressurised Evans, Smalling and Jones into mistakes.

Some thoughts on the first half
    • Johnson and Fletcher a bit useless
    • Definite peno
    • A lot of unforced errors from United
    • United don't like being pressed
    • I don't remember Joe Allen's name being mentioned once

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,161 ✭✭✭Cypher_sounds

Think i can see Van Gaal out there on the field dubstepping:P

Lights are gone out in the stadium now for half time entertainment

Undertaker to come out and clean house?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,219 ✭✭✭✭Pro. F

Liverpool getting way too much room in front of the United back line. There's far too much hesitancy in the closing down.

The three centre backs aren't good enough on the ball at the minute. DDG being so good with the ball is the only thing saving them.

Weird half time stuff in the stadium.

Yeah, I thought maybe he got a good touch, but the ball is still dropping at sterling a feet if he isn't taken out. So clear peno. Even sky all agree.

As they do for the second one on sterling, it's more of a pen if anything. Hilarious defending from Jones again in lead up to that, banging a pass to smalling from 3 yards away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,293 ✭✭✭✭rob316

That challenge from herera on sterling looked a stonewall peno too.

Yeah tbh, Rodgers has already said he's looking for another forward so I fully expect him to be 3rd choice at least. I actually quite liked him at Southampton but his touch and ability to hold up the ball (his main strengths) have looked quite poor so far. No doubt they'll improve with a bit more game time..

I like Allen but I can see him losing a lot of game time to both Lallana and Can this season. Depending on the situation.

    Is Joe Allen playing!?

Sakho, Sterling and Coutinho been good for Liverpool

Herrera and Young have been good for United

Reckon he'll look a lot sharper in 2 weeks to be honest.

Loaning Origi back to Lille is looking a really bad move, it's fine if your Madrid or City with money to burn, but Liverpool need to get someone for now, having lost the best striker in the world.

Rodgers is really underrating the loss of Suarez.

Gotta love the Americans. Or hate them, I suppose.

This half time show idea is great. Imagine if it was implemented in the Premier League.

Oasis reunion show at the Etihad.
John Bishop stand up show at Anfield.
    David Moyes at Old Trafford.

United are really missing the pace Welbeck was bringing to the front two. Hernandez has been very poor.

Miami doesn't have much interest in 'soccer' really tho does it? Probably sold tickets to the game based on the lightshow instead of the game :pac:

We have a month to sign a forward. Relax

The loan back was a condition of sale - without it the player wasn't for sale!

Liverpool have been the better team

It's blatantly obvious that United need a centre back and a midfielder to go straight into the team and backups on top of that

Once united are pressed it's a struggle and it's been this way for 5 or 6 years now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,587 ✭✭✭✭Dont be at yourself

First time seeing Herrera, and he seems a bit off the pace. Second to every ball and giving away needless fouls. Early days yet, of course, but not what I expected from a former Bielsa favorite...

Maybe Lille wouldn't sell him unless they could keep him on loan for another year????

If Real Madrid had made it, the ground would have been full I'd say. Massive amount of hispanics in Miami.

    Rodgers wants another attacker.

Good chance for Lambert. Ball just a tad behind him maybe but you would still want to score that.

Haven't previous MLS franchises gone bust there due to lack of interest tho?

Large portion of Hispanics in Miami are of Cuban origin who are more interested in baseball than football I think....

He got the ball as several times previously by a United centre half trying to blast the ball out to the wing/full back with no short option in the middle.

Shaw has looked good going forward on a couple of occasions.
