Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Eh, no it isn't.

And what kind of comment is that to make from someone who isn't even watching the game?

If Galway's shot selection wasn't so poor they'd be well in this game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,034 ✭✭✭Amprodude

According what I'm seeing here Galway could well be in it only for bad shooting.

I'm not so sure on that most of the wides are from areas they shouldn't be shooting from.

A few handy ones there alright apart from the Maher one which was a free to be fair.

Two excellent goals, but Galway's poor decision-making is killing them. Shots from wild angles and the right runs are not being made by their forwards which is disappointing. That really forces others into taking shots from distance. And none of them have come off yet.

Kerry getting scores so much easier, although Galway have tightened up in teh 2nd part of that half. But with how much Galway are struggling to score, they mightn't need to get much more.

Why are Galways full forward line not staying inside the 21.

The Galway half forwards and midfielders have nobody to kick the ball into and are being forced into taking too many shots from distance a lot of which should have been scored.

Galway in the first half have provided one of the most brainless performances from a forward line I've seen in a while.Kerry aren't playing brilliantly but Galway have let them off the hook so far

Thats the point. Dont shoot from bad areas and work for better ones. Then Galway might even be ahead now.

Then maybe one or 2 soft frees for Kerry nudging them further ahead.

You could look at it that Kerry gave up the chances. The galway goal was from a guy running through the centre. They parted like the red sea so if that happens again Galway might get more goals.

Kerrys forward line look to be very good though

Galway, like Meath yesterday, are too slow about moving the ball out of defense. They are still playing the game from a few years ago where your half forward and half back line attacked/defended as one unit, the game has moved on. Galway and Meath were taking 4/5 hand passes to get to halfway and in that time the opposition got players back and set the defense. It is not a blanket defense, just that stays in the same are for so long that players get attracted to the ball, it gets crowded and eventually it is turned over. Kerry and Armagh on the other hand leave players in their half forward line and kick to them from their own 45, meaning they can attack in space while the opposition players are making their way back. Players like O'Sullivan, Dyas and Connolly for Dublin stay up the field and form the link between the defense and the danger men inside. Good to see the game has moved on and the teams who recognise this are making those who havent look ridiculous.

Joe Brolly just irritates the hell out of me.. He makes the (normally excellent) GAA coverage unwatchable... Why does he think it's okay to slouch down in his seat with his jacket hanging open and tie askew... like some rebellious private school boy... He wouldnt sit like that in court, so I dont know why he thinks it's acceptable on national TV...

They're being forced to shoot from these areas because they are incapable of working the ball inside. The only player looking to come on to the ball at pace is Bradshaw. Kerry have kicked a couple of very bad wides too.

The wides, oh god the wides :( Hard to watch that opening twenty minutes.
