Hi folks, an out of season question, but can anyone given some advice to a newcomer following a hunt on foot? What to expect, any etiquette to be aware of, membership of a hunt etc etc
    Thanks in advance

I think most hunts would be glad of the support. I haven't hunted with any club that require foot followers to pay membership. Perhaps just ring the secretary of the club for advice.

Introducing yourself or saying hello to the Master is always a good idea.
Thanking any landowners you come across (or just even saying hello if you are not sure ;))

Foot followers usually help to rebuild walls or do small things they can to restore the land to the way it was. Some hunts have mounted people in charge of closing gates, some rely on foot followers.
