Sarah Gunther, from Kylebrack in Loughrea, ran the East Galway Animal Rescue (EGAR) sanctuary was prosecuted last month, after the Galway Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals made complaints to the Gardaí.

shocking stuff for the would be "rescued" animals.

It is imperative that she never be allowed do rescue work again and that any animals remaining in her care be removed.

Absolutely disgusted to read this. Had given a small amount to this charity before but feel totally foolish and appalled now. For all the negative publicity there has been about charities, I'd hoped this area hadn't become contaminated with the likes of these people but sadly its the case here. Shame on this woman, hopefully the new laws that have come in will help with moving Ireland into the 21st century in terms of animal welfare. Fair play to the GSPCA for following through on this.

Hopefully this doesn't stop people contributing to other charities like MADRA and GSPCA who appear to be properly run (I hope!) but unfortunately mud sticks and this makes it even more difficult for deserving charities to raise desperately needed funds.

What do you mean by 'affiliate'? in your title? You do realise there are at least two other threads about this on here?

The main thread on this topic is here. Please see Mod note #290 as the thread was closed due to potential legal action on "other agencies" and we felt it no longer appropriate to keep open.

All subsequent threads started will therefore not be allowed to continue in this forum. Thanks

    Thread closed.
