    These 2 look pretty nice...

you'll get something usable for 4K but be prepared for the odd breakdown, especially initially after you buy it. I got an 83 golf 6 months ago and it broke my heart initially but running good for the past 3 (touch wood)

I reckon that a Capri is a safe bet for combining your classic and daily driving needs. Simple well proven mechanlcs that lend themselves to a bit of diy whenever the humor takes you. Spare parts are cheap and readily available. Also, it is a car that can be easily upgraded in many respects. There is a healthy club scene if that takes your fancy.

4k should buy you a nice example.

Obviously you'll have to budget in silly motor tax until any of those cars hit 30 years. A couple of years tax on a 944 will be €2,160! Also, that one on Done Deal probably hasn't been VRT'd so the Revenue will probably want a grand or two for a reg plate.

I wouldn't buy anything without a current NCT, either. Or at least without the owner putting it through and getting a to-do list for the car.
