Hi guys this should be a short thread, which bus from town actually goes into the hospital from the 37s 38s 39s or others that travel the naven road, Thanks.

I know you can get of in the village and walk down the now closed road but 1 or 2 go into the grounds, for old folk visiting, free passes and all that.

Afaik it's only the 17a that goes through the hospital. 37 doesn't go as far as blanch village, 38/a does. Not sure about 39s but their route goes nowhere near hospital

38 goes near, 39 nowhere near but 220 does and you can link up

Dublin Bus Route Planner suggested 39 from town to Blanch and connecting with 220 (though the instructions are not very clear - you could 39 to Blanch village and walk to the hospital via Mill Road (former hospital entrance, now only open to pedestrians).

hittheroad.ie is another route planner site.

One of the 39s heading into town goes through the hostital then out on to the dual carriage way just thought one might do the same on the way back

No, none of the 39s do that, in either direction. Your options are the 17a or 220 for a service directly onto the grounds.

Yep taking the 39 then the 220 is pretty pointless I'd say your options would be:

    - 39/a to centre then 17a to hospital

    - 38/38a/39 to the village then walk up mill road (when you get off the stop head straight and take the next right )

    - 39a/70 to the m3 slip road walk to the pedestrian lights, cross over walk to the next traffic light junction left over the bridge to the next lights and then turn right and straight ahead into the hospital

The 39a and then the 17a sounds the job and they can do a bit of shopping.

    Thanks all.
