Google Cardboard - 3D Glasses - Oculus Thrift

Has anyone tried this yet?
I was going to post this link in Bargain Alerts, but decided here may be better (for now anyway)

Google Cardboard 3D Glasses Complete Set with NFC + Glasses + Velcro €6.77



Some information:

Interest: Use your smartphone as Virtual Reality Headset (not augmented).
The principle: Secure your smartphone to your head by devoting half of each screen to each of your eyes.
Advantages: Compared to the oculus rift, the first is its availability, you already have the heart of the device. But the price is missing (almost) only the support equipment, so it's really cheap. For the rest, it's a wireless, external power supply, and applications (Demos for most) which are very easy to install.

So Far: The devices tested by Google (Cardboard) are: Nexus 4 and 5, Moto X, Galaxy S4 and S5 and Galaxy Nexus.
Moto G, HTC One and Galaxy S3 will not work with the magnet (which works as a button/click), and S3 plus has other issues. An OTG cable with a mini mouse should be able to replace the magnet (that has yet to be confirmed).
For the others, it could work if the screen is good enough and if the device is at least Android 4.1.

I don't think I've left anything out. Fun to do if nothing else...
I am thinking of buying the kit from Aliexpress, as it is a good price, and will be way better than any of the versions I could make.
Although I haven't decided yet, whether or not I will.. (I'm pretty sure I will)

Ye I ordered one on eBay for the laugh the other night. Still hasnt arrived. I suspect I'll use it for about 8 seconds and then never use it again.

I'd definitely be in that boat, but that's not stopping me from ordering..
I could make one.
I don't want to pay for fast shipping for cardboard... :pac:

I am hoping to be gone away in a month, so there's no point in ordering snail mail from China, I may never see it before I go.

I'll have to resign myself to the fact it probably won't happen for me, unless I can source the parts locally. Or semi-locally.

I didn't see it on google devices, hence the link to aliexpress.

No, it's not on devices. I don't understand why they don't sell it themselves.

They probably couldn't justify selling cardboard and a rubber band .

Or more likely, probably can't sell won't sell something like that, after facebook just acquired oculus rift for $2 billion... :pac:

I don't know, but there probably is a reason. Some legal cráp.
