New York-New Years Eve

    I am going to new York with my girlfriend for new years eve and am looking for ideas for what to do for new years eve. We have been advised to stay well away from times square. Does anybody have any suggestions?

    Was there last year during the heavy snow went up to time sq in the morning to see the ball before it dropped.
    Then off to central park to throw a few snowballs, into the Waldorf Astoria for a few cocktails then back to the hotel as they had planned a big night.
    It all young students that are up in TS trying to get off with someone at midnight, cops everywhere from noon on, great fun though.
    Where about's are you staying?
