Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Raining in this match, chance for Argentina.

Stadium is half empty for this game. Awful attendance but might have something to do with the league game between the two Queensland sides that is on now as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Wonderful start for Aussies. Argentina have to wake up or it'll be a long night.

Great pass Foley, and good finish by Hooper

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

It was a certain penalty on falou but how after the Aussies have made 40 metres is that not advantage over!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

    Atrocious tackling there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

What on earth was that pass?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,857 ✭✭✭✭Loafing Oaf

Did the commentator just say somebody "plays for Leinster in the UK club competition"?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,557 ✭✭✭sydneybound

I'm following this game on line delighted to see the Pumas 7-5 up.

Surprised there even playing this match in Queenlands know they can't predict NRL fixtures but to get a better crowd you'd think they'd hold it in Sydney.

Been said way to often but GAWD these Aussie commentators on Sky are arrogant individuals

Yeah, presume he meant Leicester...he's refered to the Premiership like that a couple of times though

What is it with players who decide for a quick tap and go with absolutely nothing on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Why turn down the 3 points.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

And again. Penalty, Aus attack not set at all, Arg defense set very well, and he taps it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

That's two quick taps that produced nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Australia's attack not working whatsoever, yet they tap the ball again.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,699 ✭✭✭The Pheasant2

Argentina giving away penalties and possession too frivolously

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Stop playing scrum-half Fardy, some dreadful low passes.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,699 ✭✭✭The Pheasant2

    Brainless waste of an opportunity

Both sides have been poor, not a great contest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

That was a real chance for Arg to take control.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

    Christ Foley you butchered that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,772 ✭✭✭P.Walnuts

    Oh lordy why no pass

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Should have offloaded. Stupid by Hooper as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Comedy of errors from aus. Pumas on the ropes tho.

Perhaps should have stayed deep and put in a grubber.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Argentina look very poor in this. Still, if they can reach the half only one down...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

    Finally they take the points

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

They have way too many commentators, meaning they never shut up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

On a dry track this one could be out of reach by now. It's a shame for Argentina that the team closest to their quality in this competition seem to match up quite well with them.

Australian set piece going really well.

Fairly poor display from both sides - we should definitely be targeting a win vs Aus in the Autumn

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Such a lucky try for Australia, suppose it cancels out Montero's try.

Argentina look really poor. No idea what to do with the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

    A Poacher's try

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Going for goal there lacks ambition for me. It's 3 penalties or 1 try to get within a score.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Argentina are offering nothing going forward, going through the motions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Great from Foley and Phipps. Fantastic try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

    Great play Phipps

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,416 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

Try from this 5m, and it's game most definitely on.

    [edit] RESULT!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Oh wow

    Superb grubber

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

    Australia are dreadful

Ah here they've handed three right back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,416 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

Ah, ffs. Stupid knock on. Should be a draw!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Lovely play to make it that far, and then a stupid knock-on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

    Absolutely butchered.
Great play leading up to that though.

Go destroy the Aussies in the scrum

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,416 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

That's a load of my balls.

    "I never said yes".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

What a terrible way to end that for the pumas.

How the hell does the commentator say that was a great last scrum for the Aussies!!!

They were already getting pushed back but only for the incompetence of the scrum half the Aussies would have drawn that game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

That's a load of my balls.

    "I never said yes".

Any refs can comment on this? Should it not be a reset? Especially with the new rules were it's a silent nod and a wink etc? Can easily lead to confusion?

I know other NRL games were going on in the area but a crowd of only 14,000 was very poor for a rugby championship match.

    http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-union/union-news/wallabies-crowd-for-argentina-clash-the-lowest-this-century-20140914-10gnv1.html

Could you ever imagine only 14,000 turning up to a six nations match?!
