Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Shocking clash of heads in the Steveage Southend game tonight. Timlin's cut is not for the faint hearted. League 2 playoff clash of heads

What a ridiculous game between Swindon and Sheffield United. 7 mins left. 5 all on the night and Swindon up by a goal on aggregate

7-6 Swindon on agg 7 minutes added on

That was superbly entertaining thought it was a straight forward win at 3-0, Had the Prem game on at same time not as entertaining until Swansea scored of course :). Great never say die attitude from Sheff United

League One is just a horrible division to get out of, or stay in. Preston should be favourites but depends if they choke like they did last game of season.

Totally Sheff United prime example reaching playoffs 3/4 years still averaging 19,000 a season in League 1 too which is remarkable.

Another is Leyton Orient played some great stuff last season and failed at the final hurdle, relegated this year!

Clubs coming down from the Championship to there some examples Portsmouth,Yeovil,Southend,Plymouth,Scunthorpe,Tranmere Rovers couldn't adapt found wanting eventually dropped another status.

New Oldham boss Darren Kelly only in the job a week and is getting death threats

    http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32699022

He tweeted about Martin McGuinness calling him a legend back in Feb after being pictured with his mum at the 43rd anniversary of Bloody Sunday were she lost her brother and the Daily Mail picked it up and wrote about it.

League One is the best league in England, IMO. Always incredibly exciting and unpredictable, good mix of clubs with usually a couple of fallen Giants in there up against former non-league minnows, plenty of goalscorers and lots of fun as we saw last night.

Its as exciting as the Championship at this stage no doubt, Also thought it was kind of inconsiderate of the Prem to host a game (Arsenal v Swans) the same time as the FL have a play-off on given the weeks they're on is known at season start not to mention there were weeks over the season with no PL matches on a Monday.

Receiving over 10 million per game shown has a lot to do with the Premier league tbh

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,325 ✭✭✭✭Dozen Wicked Words

Whats the story with the Blackpool Huddersfield game? Are they going to award in to Huddersfield or what seeing as its dead rubber anyway? Probably not huge money at stake but 3 points moves huddersfield up and spot and leeds down 1.

The Football League has entered nil nil as the final score into the record books.

Yes but Sky and BT say what games are on tv and when.

Nothing is said when Premier League goes against the Football League every Saturday lunch time.

Also the reason there is no Monday night football all seaon long is because they can only show a certain amount of games in that time slot

Pitch looking very good at Roots Hall considering how wet it is in Southend. Might cut up a bit though.

Ya I'd say it's because Friday PL games are looming now too, a usual broadcast time for FL games.

I've no sympathy for him now after making a balls of the first chance. He has to smack that pen and keep it down at least.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭Stevecw

Thought it was a harsh enough peno in the 1st place. Bad night for Corr alrite, he had the look of someone who wasn't confident. Happy to have 30 more mins of this anyway

He scored a dinked pen about six weeks ago against Wimbledon and he's thought he's Pirlo ever since. I love the bloke but it is annoying.

Fair enough there's noting wrong with it. But after missing a great chance for messing about. You say to yourself right last kick of the send us to Wembley I'm not having a great night hit the target with some pace anyway

Only turned on for extra time, not sure how Southend aren't home and hosed here. This has a Stevenage penalty win written all over it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Goal for Southend, fully deserved as well.

I can't take this! Come on Southend!

On loan. We've a few Irish lads. Deegan just coming on, Corr, Bolger at the back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Stevenage don't seem to have anything left in the tank.

Gary Deegan used to be a walking Yellow/Red card at the Cobblers, liability virtually every game! Good luck in final, hopefully your lot can turn Wycombe over. Ainsworth can only be described in ways that would merit a card on this forum.

He's become a bit of a cult hero at Southend. Mainly because he has a beard and goes around kicking people.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

Boro go 1-0 up against Brentford, great goal from Tomlin.

edit: Slight deflection on the shot, might have been saved otherwise.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

    2-0, Boro surely through now.

Great pass to set it up from Tomlin.

edit: 3-0 after a great break from Boro.

Still a long way to go for it to happen, but if it does it would be excellent for the north-east to have Sunderland, Newcastle and 'Boro all in the Premier League next season.
