GLAS Scheme - Dairy Farmer??

    Hi,

    Friend of mine milking 35 cows, and keeps a lot of beef ( About 80 cattle - just up to 2 and half years old, not fattened, just reared from Grass mostly).

    No Slatted house - just cubicles / yards, scraped into open slurry pit ( and tank for run-off).

    Out of REPS 4 scheme with about 2 years, having been in it since day one.

    Would he be allowed into the GLAS scheme ?

    Or maybe he could put his outside farm into it only?

    Anyone in Similar situation as him, and already / thinking of getting into in GLAS / Organic?

    He believes milk prices will drop to nothing after 2015 - so not interested in spending a fortune on milk production, but just keep milking same as he is.

    Opinions on this would be great.
