One person left during induction week and was immediately replaced by one of the extra 5 people that had been brought down. Since then, nobody has left.

In reference to the structure here. We have classes from 9-5, breakfast 8-9, lunch 1-2 and tea 5-6 and outside these hours it is up to ourselves what we do. Parade is Tuesday mornings. Wednesday afternoons we do various forms of PE and thats our only compulsory fitness. We are expected to build fitness ourselves in free time and theres something on nearly every night. Pool is open Monday and Wednesday evenings and people are having their own games of basketball, GAA, soccer, squash, golf etc.

Won't be assigned for ages yet!

There is a rumour eight recruits have left - six by their own choice, two by request. How are the rest of the recruits finding it? How are ye finding the regime?

I heard 3 have gone, mainly due to their run in with the laws.
One from traffic offences, one from drugs, don't know about the third.
All things they got involved in after their initial vetting before they went down.

I hope its true that all 100 are still there - they and many more are urgenly awaited nationwide. We'll see when the stations list is published how many of the 100 make it to the end - and i really do hope its 100 names on that list.

Regarding Garda health insurance, can student Gardai get it ?
Also how much are trainees getting per week is it roughly €184 or €250 ?

The €250 figure comes from ,

" The Garda Trainees will receive an allowance of €184 per week for the 32 weeks leading to attestation. A weekly living allowance of €77.92 will also be provided for this period. After 32 weeks of training, Garda recruits are attested and move on to the first point of the Garda pay scale of €23,171 rising to a maximum of €45,793 per annum after 19 years. They may also qualify for other allowances depending on their assignments."

Out of 15 Christmases, I got one off.
This year is only my 2nd Christmas off in 16 years.
    Such is the job.
