What would be the best method to prevent rust, prior to painting, for thin items like front wings?

Galvanizing is out, due to the temps needed (which is a pity) I was also looking into powder-coating prior to the car going to the bodyshop.

I'm not a huge fan of powder coat especially if you're going to weld because I think that if moisture gets under it will reap havoc unseen. I used zinc primer with brush on sealer on all welds, when the paint is finished generously coat all nooks and crannies with cavity wax.

Check out the Bilt Hamber range of rust prevention products, theyre getting great reviews. I picked up the DeOx Gel and Hydrate 80. The Deox removes and kills any active rust and then over this you apply the Hydrate 80 to form a protective barrier.

I plan on using these on the underside of my Spitty before rust priming it and then giving it a coat of epoxy resin.

For panel/wings, make sure and give the lower sections of the wing/panel internals a couple of extra coatings as this is where any moisture will run to and sit!

I have the powder version of the deox gel, been planning on using it for a while but I'd need a big bath to dip the wings in!

    Thanks for yer help lads!
