Huge crowd expected at the Drogs v Dundalk derby match and it's live on Setanta.Should be a cracking match and a brilliant atmosphere and has an 8pm ko btw.
Cork v Pats should also be a ...corker (sorry for the obvious pun) Shamrock Rovers v Derry is another very attractive match.Free scoring Derry play against ex Derry and new Shamrock Rovers manager Pat Fenlon.
    Some weekend of LOI.

Limerick beat Bray 4-1 on Thursday night.

Not at all confident about tonight. Small tight pitch, New manager, a Derby so form goes out the window and Drogheda players wanting revenge for the 7-0 a few months back.
If we score 1st we should win, but if we dont, we could struggle to get the 3pts

    New era.

    Nutsy in.

Huge surge of optimism for a suffering support.

Has to be a 0-0 draw then.

Cliched 6 pointer again in Turners Cross tonight and I am not confident at all. A SPA win has us down to 3rd. Surely we must be able to rally after losing 2 on the spin?

Would hope its another big crowd, but CCFC fans are fickle. Losing the last 2 probably means were will be back to to a paltry 3000 at best.

UCD away. Is it possible to ever be excited about that?

Any fixture with UCD involved is an excitement vacuum.

    Always bowls me over anyway.

Not going to UCD to watch those arse holes...

will probably change my mind by 6 after a day's work

Looking forward to the Louth derby this evening although not overly confident of grabbing all three points. We haven't had much joy in United Park in recent years with only one win in the last nine or ten games (lots of draws). They spanked us 4-1 in the first series of games and we spanked them even harder in Oriel.

Hopefully Damien Richardson bores the Drogs to death with his pre match inspirational talk and we spank them again. Dundalk side have had a week's rest so should be raring to go. Think we can sneak a narrow win this evening. Would be happy enough with a draw though. Hopefully Pats and Cork share the spoils down in Turners Cross.

Hoare and Forrester out for us, no idea who will be CB possibly Chambers if Oman/Foran still out.

Much more confident about beating Pats tonight than I was about beating Dundalk last week. But with both teams missing some key players, it has a draw written all over it.

Ger O'Brien maybe with McCormack RB?

Ger been injured all season, played vs Legia when clearly wasnt fit. had a fitness test last week and wasnt in the squad after it.

We made no subs last week, 1st time i ever seen that happen.

    No.

Hopefully we'll pick up the 3 points anyway...

Derry probably the toughest home game left, scoring lots of goals against a side that doesn't score at home. On paper, it's an easy away win and it was until 6 days ago, but maybe...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

The absolute hassle of UCD away after A) the shambles on Monday and B) the subsequent newspaper articles from Heary.

A win is an absolute must and nothing else should be acceptable.

Massive game, we're playing some of our best football in years so really hope we can win tonight and then close the gap with our game in hand.

Seems like a few wee brats seem to have got into United Park with a spray can.

Disgraceful carry on. The lack of originality or wit shown in the slogans is shocking. Poor show.

Oh and hopefully Damo can do us a major favour tonight

Yeah, there's another one that has SH1T written over one of their murals. Apparently it's signed by SSA which are the initials of the Dundalk Shed hardcore supporters. (ShedSide Army). They've denied all knowledge of it.

Gardai could be kept busy after the game this evening.

    McCormack,Brennan Browne, Bermingham,
Bolger, Fahey, , Quigley, Byrne, Greene,
    .................Fagan

Healy with one of the goals of the season tonight. Great win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,424 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

    I enjoyed that.

    pick that out Pats

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,798 ✭✭✭✭DrumSteve

Well that was turgid. Cant imagine how much more ****e we would have been had owen not rested anyone.

Baffled by the Devaney substition... The one attacking threat we had. I mean Dinny...I forgot he was on the pitch.

That announcer sounded like the priest with the incredibly boring voice from Father Ted.

Huge result for the Youths, hard game for us but completely deserved. Galway not nearly as impressive as they were earlier this season.

Massive result for wexford youths tonight! up into the playoffs. really surprised at galway!

edit:well cant complain been beaten to it by a youths fan

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,184 ✭✭✭✭Pighead

Plenty of blood and thunder in Utd Park this evening but not a whole lot of skill. We had a bit of joy with Gannon and Meenan down the right a few times but all in all not much to write home about. Sickener conceding straight away after we scored. Draw a fair result. Looks like a two horse race now after Pats defeat.

Really wasn't expecting to be sitting in third going into the last series :)

Apparently Derry should have won easily tonight. But Rovers took their chances.

Thats our chase for 4th over.

Wait until you see Colin Healys winner for us. The place went absolutely nuts, pitch invasions and everything, what its all about.

I thought use played decent stuff in Oriel the other night, Tried to play the ball on the ground at the start second half troubled us for a while but Boyle and Gartland are great players and diff standard told.

Il be rooting for use over the other 3 anyway

Poor game in Drogheda tonight, typical Derby passion, tackles, effort but not much ball played. Dont think either side can complain with a draw! If we hadnt of conceded so soon after we scored (litreally from kick off) we would have won comfortably but 4 points clear, basically 5 with our GD with 10 games to go and Drogheda away out of the way.

Bring on next weekend, Limerick at home and Sligo away, 4 or 6 points and its over IMO

Coppers strip the bus of all drink and then watch the bus get smashed up. Typical anti-dub gob****es.

lol those fans have not had much luck with Buses and Cork this season :D

Ah he's a laugh. As far as I know he's been the announcer since the 1990s at least.
No coincidence that when Hugh Douglas is out for two games, we concede 10 goals, but he returns and we keep a clean sheet. I really wish he'd cut out the monumental brain farts he seems to have that result in him getting sent off.

Hard to believe that's the same Derry team that only scored with a cross-shot in the opening game. Should've been 0-2 or 0-3 up at HT.

Game won by Fenlon in the second half, changes made and by the end, Derry were a beaten team, McEleney frustrated and Patterson limping off. Vintage Finn for the second goal.

100 or so American visitors who were seated in the Derry end spent most of the game slagging Derry off. Signalling en-masse for an extra point to a touchdown when a Derry lad blazed over the bar late on.:pac:

Not the best .gif, but you get the picture:

Cracking goal from Healy. I still nearly puke when I think of his leg break while playing for Sunderland back in 2003.

    What. A. Goal!

Don't know how we weren't a few goals down by HT but different team in second. Like a mouthwash to the last few months. Americans in West stand were hilarious.

Well that was a fúcking waste of time going over to UCD. Couldn't score in a fúcking brothel if someone else was guiding them in. Shocking stuff.

Bringing Devaney off when he looked the most threatening was utterly bizarre.

On a side note, I hope Anto Murphy recovers soon. He was our best player before going off last night.

Game in utd pk was a typical derby . I thought drogs shaded it in the second half and could have scored another . Will take a point though considering where we where a short time ago . Huge crowd down from Dundalk so fair play for that . It would do my heart good to see those 2 points dropped having any bearing on where the title ends up .
