Are we assuming Costa and Sturridge are injured for DGW and that they'd both be pointless transfers?

Liverpool have little to play for now, Chelsea will probably have the title wrapped up by the time Costa is fully fit again. They've six games left and need only 4 points from them.

My expectation (and I could be very wrong) is that both will feature sparingly for their clubs now.

4 points behind Man City if they win their match in hand is definitely do-able for Liverpool

City play Villa, Spurs, QPR, Swansea and Southampton though. Can't see them losing many points there because Villa will be in cup mode and Spurs, Swansea and Saints are probably busy already booking their Summer flights.

Liverpool still have Chelsea away too.

I don't think Man City will blow it but Liverpool won't be taking their foot off the pedal until it's mathematically impossible (which could be after that Chelsea match).

    Any update on Nugent?

QPR/Villa will be fighting for survival and spurs/southampton for Europe so those games won't be easy.

Villa might be in cup mode, but Sherwood will be aware that a loss and a heavy one and they could be dragged back into the relegation battle. Leicester win against burnley and they are 1 point behind. Villa's run in is also not great so all points will be needed.

Swansea game should be straight forward.

Not really hopefully we get to hear about the scan results at some point. According to the article he is a quick healer with these things so fingers crossed he can play.

Not yet but if he was better than 50% to play vs United he'll surely be fine looks like they will need him to be fit with the news on Drogba! Be a nice DGW treat if Hazard starts upfront!

Not the way Chelsea play it won't
Hazard is much better coming on to the ball
If I knew he was going to play up front I wouldn't captain him.
We have had this all season with sterling.
Some players like Walters are good midfielders to have when they play up front as they are actually strikers.
    Hazard and sterling are not

Sure who knows what would happen if they went that way you would think he would get more big chances playing there but obviously his assist potential would go down and if they played like they did at the weekend he definitely wouldn't be getting many chances! If Jose said he was playing upfront you would have to be very brave not to make him captain though as he is going to be the overwhelming favourite.

Didier Drogba trained with Chelsea's first team today despite ankle injury. Imagine he should be OK for Arsenal trip on Sunday.

There was probably nothing wrong with him. They just pulled him out of that charity game as the other 2 strikers were injured.

Any word on Alderweireld or Dawson's (wba) injuries?

I see Koeman has said Toby "looks OK now" but surely he won't be back so soon will he?

    Any news on Remy

Ben Dinnery tweeted yesterday, for what it's worth, that Drogba was expected to be available and "Loic Remy is also close".

Maybe it wasn't a disloaction after all?
I have to replace one of those, I'd prefer if one is not injured!!

    hhhhmmmmm
may take a further -4 to get skertl or moreno in and double up on pool at the back with mignolet

HLNinEngeland actually says he has a small fracture in his shoulder no mention of a dislocation in any of his tweets??

Southampton press conference is at 2pm presumably it will get a mention then.

think I'll wait for koeman on this one so
still may move either him or bertrand out
Bertrand would be better to give me money for arsenal players

No matter if its a fracture or dislocation doubt we will see him for a while. Not long to wait to hear it direct one way or another.

Bizarre! The Belgian guy seemed to suggest it came from Simon Peach but he is saying that he has always said he thought Alder would be available.

"Rodgers on injuries: "Lallana has just come back in. We will see how he is. None of the others (Sakho, Lucas, Sturridge) will be fit. Jon Flanagan has come back into training, we will have to monitor him."

Ugh, I don't want Stevie Me starting

+1 .....should have gotten Sterling I'm thinking.

They could still do something like:

    Henderson Allen
    Ibe Lallana Coutinho
    Sterling

with Moreno either wingback or part of back four

Ibe at 4.3 is very interesting, likely to play both games I'd say.

I don't think we'll be seeing Daniel for more than a half hour again this season. It's a pity as he's a great striker.

Be very surprised if a big-name striker isn't top of Liverpool's summer shopping list

Ridiculous that they pulled out of the Remy transfer last year. He would have been a great FF option at Liverpool.

Any news on Remy yet? I know both Drogba and himself were doubtful so hopefully Remy is OK and gets the nod.

Thanks for that. Need to make a decision on Remy then. Are people keeping or selling?

Bizarre opinion. He's been out 4 or 5 times this season injured proving that not signing him after a failed medical was the correct decision.

To say it's ridiculous that a team didn't buy an injury prone player who ended up being injured for a lot of the subsequent season doesn't make any sense.

Remy is a bit of a pain in the bum. Will probably jettison him and get in another DGW striker for a -4 :(

Has he missed alot of this season?

I only remember him missing this period now and being injured for a month earlier in the season as per this article:

    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/chelsea-injury-list-diego-costa-and-loic-remy-lead-the-blues-absent-players-9828773.html

When was the 4 or 5 times you refer to? His injury record on Transfermarket only refers to two periods injured this season also. The two I have mentioned above.

    http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/loic-remy/verletzungen/spieler/45121

He's made 16 appearances for Chelsea in a possible 30 games so far. He featured in the first two games for QPR so 18 appearances in 32 games so far. Considering he's only a backup striker and Drogba was favoured for a few games, that's not a terrible record.

In 2012-13, he made 14 appearances after signing in January and he made 28 last season. Not a terrible record either year, particularly as he was an on-loan striker at Newcastle.

I certainly think Liverpool could have done with him this season, even with him missing those two periods.

The failed medical was because of a heart condition, I don't think he's missed any games because of his heart :)

Having him for 15 games would have been better than Balotelli and Lambert put together IMO.
