Ugh! i think Monstrous Regiment might be the least enjoyable of all the Discworld book  . It certainly feels the least funny.

Whats this one like its on my to-do list?

If you like dystopia/classics i recommend 'We by yevgeny zamyatin' or
'Meccania the superstate by Owen Gregory', the latter doesn't really have a plot but its still interesting.

It's a good read, comparable to 1984, although I did prefer 1984. Worth a read if that sort of thing appeals to you.

That seems an inappropriately cheery cover for crusoe which is actually pretty bleak and filled with existential as well as actual dread :) .

Definitely doesn't match what I've read so far :)

A big fan of his novels, I'm giving his latest collection of short stories a try

They had adaptations of 4 of Gaimans short stories on Sky Arts a few weeks back, they'll probably be repeated sometime if you missed them.
They're called Neil Gaiman's Likely Stories.
They were ok but i preferred the H.G. Wells short stories they adapted a few weeks before the Gaiman ones. Those were called H.G. Wells Nightmare Worlds.

Had stopped reading for a while since my last update as I was finishing up my thesis so October was a mental month for me.

In the last few weeks I've been getting back into the swing of things.

Terry Pratchett - A Hat Full of Sky

    51KxxACX0sL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

This was knocked out while away on holiday :D

Since then I've moved onto a collection of Classics from Franz Kafka, including The Trial and The Castle.

You should know the Castle is unfinished so be prepared for a rather abrupt ending. I think i liked it much more a few weeks after finishing it, it tends to stay with you.

Also there's a black comedy web series based on the Trial, its pretty decent i gave up on it after a few episodes because black comedy isn't really my thing but i also havn't read the Trial so maybe i'll look at it again if i ever get around to reading that.

Yeah I just finished The Castle, thoroughly enjoyed it, but to say it ends abruptly is putting it lightly! Its a pity, I really wanted to know what would happen. Reading Metamorphaseis now, which is a very different to The Castle and The Trial.
