Just woken to a snow lovers dream here on Boston, white out with a fresh 4 to 6 inches on the ground and a few more hours of snow to come yet, estimated totals have been revised up again now, hopefully post some photos later.

As kermit said looks like there could be a north-westerly event similar to what we had a few weeks ago in the last week of February. Have to say im gonna bow out of this one, another week of strong winds, severe wind chill factor and showers of cold rain or sleet with a few random night time flakes on the car, no thanks!.

At this stage it's too late for a proper cold spell offering several days of decent lying snow unless there is an exceptional turn of events. Ive had enough of low temperatures for this season unless it offers the Great White Siberian army.

Just popped outside and it is amazing more Snow than I have ever thought possible to see, 13" overnight with 46" now lying in the front garden and drifts of over 6 feet!

It was snowing here in Donegal a while ago, the hills have a dusting on them.

i think we're heading into a period of more mobile weather with your typical late winter\early spring variety of weather alternating between a couple of days mild a and a day or 2 of cold. definitely potential in the West and NW over the next 2 or 3 weeks.

You haven't been to Carrick then? :)

There was a small sleet shower in Galway earlier. I think the Connemara hills will be white tomorrow.

    Ah Shur that's nuthin,Jan 2010 at your station? :D

Below -15 nostril hairs get stiff as you breath

On a more serious note, that kind of winter over there is the reason we've only at best had false cold here
You certainly hit the jackpot in your timing

Yep it's even cold for the locals here in North Conway, they closed some of the slopes yesterday as it -50 with the windchill.

Now I'm off to a 2hr snowmobile tour through the mountains :D

    SNOW?

11.6c here, the highest I've seen in weeks, a month maybe?
I think its safe to say that today will probably be the warmest day of the month before it turns much more cooler and unsettled for the remaining ten days.
Some more snow at times for those in the north and west who have already seen snow this winter seems very likely.

The cold in America as Villian can attest is actually more severe than last year

We can never really have a proper cold spell here when that pattern happens over there as it feeds fuel into the Atlantic

There's Frost forecast for Miami tomorrow night as the cold air is so widespread it's enveloping even south Florida

I realty enjoyed this winter. Last winter was brutal in comparison.
Some lovely cold dry days and I got 2 superb snow fixes albeit on higher ground. Build it and I will go...

Just got a blustery shower (for all of 5 minutes) here that plunged the temperature - it went from 9C to 5C in half an hour.

Only the 2nd day with any rainfall since January 29th!

The sun is out again....but I thinkwish the next shower around dusk will drop several cm of snow.
