wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction where I can suggest to the council about installing street lighting along the road from the train station in Rathdrum to the Hidden Valley caravan / camping site.

as the evenings draw in i've noticed there are none on this stretch of road and as a female walking this daily i'll be nervous along the route come wintertime.

not sure who in the council would deal with such things? or would it be a matter to raise with my local counsellor?

Your best bet would be to go to your local councillor.

If you are in Rathdrum, your local councillor would be Pat Kennedy. He's a good bloke, having had several meetings with him before, and he should be able to help you out. But bear in mind, councillors aren't miracle workers either!

Other councillors that would cover your area (but would not be local to Rathdrum) would be: Tommy Annesley, Sylvester Bourke, Pat Fitzgerald, Miriam Murphy and Mary McDonald.

Here is a page with a list of all the councillors and their details. Rathdrum is in the Arklow/South Municipal Area.

Also, the roads department in Wicklow County Council would be the governing department in Wicklow County Council.

I know Pat well so I'll hit him up for advice first.
