Is late September too late to look for an English teaching job in Spain?

    I've been recently thinking about applying for a TEFL (probably the CELT) so I can teach English in Spain. However, the course doesn't finish until September 19th. I'm just wondering if that would rule me out for all the jobs in English language schools as the school term would have already started and most teachers would have probably already been hired. Am I right in thinking this? Also the course costs almost €900 so I don't wanna do it if I'm not able to find a job after!
