How **** that game was and to come away with 3 points.

Delighted for the young lad. Thrown in at the deep end and completely nailed it.

Doesn't cover over the cracks. This team can't continue like that. We were lucky.

    Dier on fire!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

    Delighted!

Filled in at two positions today on his debut and topped it with a late winner. Well done son!

Dier and Capoue were amazing, Kaboul was poor though. Lamella didn't link with Ade, would do better with Soldado. Thought Holtby and Townsend changed the game. Lots to learn from this.

Delighted for Dier...seen his interview on arrival.....nice unassuming down to earth lad.

We are still missing a few bodies.....and we have never had a top striker since ....as long as I can remember.

Eriksons a class player in the Modric vein....plus he will score more goals.
Lamela needs a few goals early on in the League to settle and get his confidence going....bags of potential there.
Delighted to see Capoue playing as I rate him over Sandro....he passes, carries the ball better and is far more mobile.

Townsend will cause any defence problems as long as he is coached to play for the team and not shoot every time (ie: Defoe)

seen diers interview on ssn after the game even in that short interview you can see he knows the game and tatics very well, nice down to earth kid too:D

Not the best performance, but good to get the win. Delighted for Dier, and he looks like he could be a solid player. Maybe him and Verts could be our main CB pairing, assuming we don't get anyone else.

Caught the second half on today fm, both commentators were quite criticalof diers performance at right back?

They must be mixing him up with Rose, he was solid on right

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,019 ✭✭✭davycc

yea dier was solid, rose was as lazy as bae on a bad day. got destroyed by downing and never even attempted to block 1 cross all game

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,713 ✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

Hard to know what to make of it.

Ten men against eleven and we were awful. To be expected I suppose. 10 v 10 and we were pretty decent. Looked dangerous in attack anyway.

Fair play to Poch. All 3 subs were positive, even the 2 before Collins got red.

Dier was ropey in 1st half but came into it as the game went on. God knows what he was doing up there. In 93rd min. Ha.

Kaboul was rocky too. Good player alongside Vertz or daws from a few ago but vs a top 6 side he needs help.

Is any actually surprised with rose performance, confused:

i guess the lack of competition for the LB spot has him even more complacent than usual:(

I guess Kaboul or Dier will be slipping into RB now that Naughton is suspended.

That can only mean Daws coming back into CB unless Vertz is thrown back in. ..

0-0 ht, 1-0 soldado sub. COYS
    well, nearly right :)

    well, nearly right :)

A great result but very unconvincing

Having said that - the hammers away is always a very tough game especially in local derbies

Still have vert / paulie / dembele / walker to come back

If Davies steps up and replaces rose and if we had a proper striker then it could be a good season

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,837 ✭✭✭same ol sh1te

So it's Kane higher up the pecking order than Soldado?

different game at home id say… away from home 10 men kane will run his b*llocks off for you. If Soldado is 3rd choice, which I doubt he is, he'll be sold and hopefully replaced. Although i still reckon he's class just lacking a bit of confidence.
