Sports Boat Advice

    Looking to upgrade (or downgrade depending on your position) from a 5.5m RIB 75hp to a 2nd hand Sea Ray 175 or equivalent.

    Just looking for any advice with regards these types of boats, issues, cautions in buying 2nd hand or any tips you can give me really with buying and using sports boats. Im predominantly hoping to be using it for wake boarding and skiing etc.

    Hi Palinpropism welcome, if you are going to use it mainly for water sports you should look at ones like Mastercraft and Ski Nautique maybe this one http://www.donedeal.ie/boats-for-sale/ski-nautique/7309930 these boats have an inboard engine on a 1-1 gearbox with the prop on a shaft under the boat instead of a outdrive sticking out the back so a lot safer for people in the water. They also come with a tower or pole to keep the tow ropes away from the back of the boat giving a clear run to both sides some of the boats have built in water tanks that can be filled to add weight to the boat and give it a bigger wake. These boats can hold their money well and go for silly money a bit like a RIB :)

    The mastercraft and ski natique wake boats are very flat, you'd want a good back if there's a bit of chop out!
