Drinking alone

Sitting on my bed firing back a few vodkas on my own watching 24 got me thinking about what a taboo drinking alone is, sure I enjoy going out and all with mates at the weekend butsometimes you need relaxing aalone time too

it's ok if you don't have a drink problem

or you're not going way over safe limits for the week

I just drink socially once a month now as I end up bingeing for a few days if I start drinking at home

Same here, pretty much as every other Friday. I am so sick of work, people, problems, noise. All I want is to kick off my VMs and mess around, chill, post crap on boards, drink wine, smoke weed.

I'd often sup a few beers or stronger when playing Xbox, technically I'm not on my own but yeah, I can't understand the taboo either. It's probably down to the fact that the conception is drinking is to get blotto, as opposed to a glass of beer at lunch

A nice old session to drown in your sorrows once every few days weeks months is pretty underrated too

It only becomes a problem when you run out!! Wouldn't see it as an issue. I'd have a bottle or two of wine a night watching tv, just to relax. Don't need an audience

I'm drinking beers alone right now as I've had a really busy week and don't feel like talking to anyone. They're going down like sweet nectar!

What difference would it make if a friend called over now and sat next to me. I'd still be consuming the same amount. Actually, I'd probably end up drinking more and faster if I had company.

I don't see any problem at all with drinking alone once your reasons for doing so aren't negative. If you're drinking to relax and unwind then it's fair enough. If your drinking because you can't cope or want to escape then perhaps you need to check yourself.
