Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That could prove to be a Ki goal in this game.

Maybe this will be the kick in the arse for LVG and Woodward to go get some quality defenders and midfielders

Would be no surprise to see Man U come back and win this, but I think that there will be a bit of a bedding in period under LVG for United, and a few blips early on in the season can be expected.

But have a sneaky feeling that any such blips will only aid a manager of LVG's calibre in making Man U a very different proposition to what they were last season.

Operating in stealth mode by the looks of it.

I didn't see any of our pre season games at all so this is my first look at the team under LVG's guidance.

In my honest opinion we're the same as last year with just a different formation. Need major investment quick!!

There's nothing like a manager screaming obscenities on the touchline.

If there is one thing I've learned from watching this club it's that no result ever acts as a kick up the arse for anything.

Van Gaal to do a tactical masterstroke and sub his keeper at half time?

Hernandez has been awful. Was Bony's challenege on Jones (for the goal) a foul? I know it was off the ball, but it looked ike he moved towards Jones to block him as opposed to just standing his ground.

Maybe United needs some width to stretch Swansea since they're sitting so deep.

Bit of a toothless response so far from utd. You'd expect them to come out in the second half firing though (although there is still time for an equaliser this half too).

I must say I was surprised LVG has been so fixed on the 3-5-2 formation. To me United have the players who would suit a 4-3-3 or some variation of that.

Fabianski's a great signing for Swansea. Very good goal keeper.

A reality check for van Gaal!!

Herrera seems to be getting knocked about a bit too easily.

How is there 3 mins added time?

Lingard was down for a fee minutes.

    Chico off, James on.
James to Lwb, Young to Rwb, Janujaz up front with Rooney.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,797 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Swansea such a lovely footballing side, just about deserve to be in front thanks to that classy finish from Ki. United on the other hand look toothless. Too many slack passes from Herrera, Mata and Fletcher have been anonymous. Maybe Moyes isn't looking so silly now.

Dreadful from Man United. Swansea not much better bar the goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,999 ✭✭✭Backstreet Moyes

Not enough in the middle of the park i would like to go 3 in the centre and take off Hernandez.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,370 ✭✭✭✭Son Of A Vidic

A goal down and another player lost through injury. Not an ideal start.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,128 ✭✭✭✭Oranage2

    Bring back Moyes

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,222 ✭✭✭✭Will I Amnt

I think there'll be balls out at half-time. Fairly dull game but I'd expect United to be a different proposition in the second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

Thought it was a foul against Jones on Bony for the goal. Well taken though once he got on the end of it. Have sig in ff team as well so assist to start, not bad.

Unfortunately I agree, after Moyes it's hard to imagine what could

Mata to come off at halftime and nani to go on the right and adnan at 10. Mata getting crowded out.

The back three are not willing to pass the ball forward into midfield, which means Herrera can't turn on a ball, give and go, and get ahead of Swansea midfield. Defenders keep movig the ball wide and slowly, which won't open Swansea up.

Poor half, but shows that united are short at the back and need another midfielder, as everybody knew already.

Having first choice wing-backs missing doesnt help either.

Watching Bein Sports and was surprised to see David Moyes on the panel for the half time analysis. Really didn't think he'd want to be there. Wonder if he's secretly enjoying the current scoreline???

  • Registered Users Posts: 476 ✭✭twinex

I could see fellaini making an appearance if they keep up the physical play in midfield
