Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A bird sh*ting on Ashley Young in that first half, it's a sign of good luck! Then we concede....:pac:

Not going to worry at this moment, only first game and dear god I imagine VG will give them some earful.

I expect a better second half, saying that not the worst first half but not creating any real chances with the ball. Did look a bit like a foul on the build up to the goal but still a nice finish and no point dwelling on it, it's been given.

Not ideal but still 45 minutes to play!

Same as always with united, any bit of pressure when our players are on the ball they can't handle it. We need signings to bolster a poor midfield.

United on preseason were better after half time, but fingers crossed.

Still....a Rooney really has been muck, Hernandez is nonexistant and Fltcher needs replacement ASAP.

Before people panic remember Moyes great start last year? Had little relevance on the season in full, wouldn't get too worked up and still time to turn it around.

the space kie had was criminal, watching it again there..

Mata to come off at halftime and nani to go on the right and adnan at 10. Mata getting crowded out.

The back three are not willing to pass the ball forward into midfield, which means Herrera can't turn on a ball, give and go, and get ahead of Swansea midfield. Defenders keep movig the ball wide and slowly, which won't open Swansea up.

Poor half, but shows that united are short at the back and need another midfielder, as everybody knew already.

Having first choice wing-backs missing doesnt help either.

We aren't playing well. Mata, even when not playing well can score or assist from a free-kick. Gambling on Nani to find form isn't encouraging.

Very average performance from United so far. Swansea's tactics are working though, tight in defence, packing the midfield and breaking on the counter.

Should be a draw I believe because united have tried to force it more than Swansea however that was a great finish from Ki.

My main gripe with United in this game is that they are toothless up front at the moment. Hernandez and Rooney not providing much threat.

Nice footballer Herrara but he does look very light for the Premier League.

We should be fitter than most thanks to our double training session so hopefully it shows today too.

Swansea such a lovely footballing side, just about deserve to be in front thanks to that classy finish from Ki. United on the other hand look toothless. Too many slack passes from Herrera, Mata and Fletcher have been anonymous. Maybe Moyes isn't looking so silly now.

Ah come off it, 45 minutes into the match and Moyes is proven right? Complete exaggeration

Suggested it cos he was going thro serious warm-up prior to halftime. Presume he's coming in, trying to guess how

I think the effects of the preseason and double training are already on show in that growing injury list!

If only the other teams had thought of that. I guess thats's why LVG gets paid the big bucks.

In what minute will the TV camera pan to Alex Ferguson?

Man United playing a back 4. Van Gaal is a tactical genius.

    Who came off for Nani?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 831 ✭✭✭daingeanrob

change in shape already, that's a good sign, a manager that can make the big calls in time, still another half to go

  • Registered Users Posts: 542 ✭✭✭twam2008

I like the fact that VG did don't piss about and changed things. Bit worrying that its Nani but can't be any worse than Chico.

For me they've been pretty much playing 4 at back since Lingard went off. Januzaj played as a winger not a wing back in the first half.

    Finally a spark from Januzaj

Swansea players will start getting booked here. Loads of niggly fouls

Good man Rooney, januzaj taking his man on at every opportunity, corner came from more good work from him.

A question, just looking at that foul from Shelvey. Can a ref give two yellows for something like that? As in if the foul warranted a yellow, and then another for booting the ball away?

And a 3rd for poorly imitating Gru from Despicable Me?

    Yes, wouldn't though.

Some difference with Adnan and Nani on, much more direct

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,846 ✭✭✭✭Liam McPoyle

Different looking team from first half, they must have gotten some bollocking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,777 ✭✭✭jimmytwotimes 2013

Fair play to LVG for not being stubborn on the 352, it wasn't working so switched to 442.

If LVG does go back to 442, I'd worry for mata.

Instead of getting the hair dryer treatment they were given the Dutch clog treatment. The jerseys hide the bruises.

Januzaj and Nani have given the extra bit we needed going forward.
