Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Totally undeserved.

I guess that's why they are champions.

Not much luck for Newcastle. Shot rebounded perfectly back to Aguero.

2-0 Aguero. Scoreline very harsh on Newcastle.

Sucker punch and we've been the better team. Positives. Lots of positives.

Excellent game, feel really bad for Newcastle but they lacked bite when going forward and it cost them.

Any manager who the js obertan is a better option than Ben Arfa needs their heads examined.

Team hit the wall at 60 mins. Tiredness clearly evident.

    It's all been said before

    Good game that.

Newcastle deserved a point IMO but one real piece of quality was the difference.

Despite the loss it's hard to be too downbeat about that performance. If we can get that cohesion in the final third we'll trouble a lot of teams this season. Bench on paper is very light right now though.

De Jong and Ferryera (sp?) to still come in. The positives are there but need to be worked on against Villa next week.

Great Newcastle performance, just lacking that bit of bite up front. Riviere and Perez ok but if its only one up top we need the likes of a striker like Remy.
Professional performance from City, didn't really get out of second gear and with a bit of match fitness will be tough to see anyone else challenging them for the league.

Not sure about that, to be honest; check the shots on target and possession.

I think having no shots on goal is an important one though. We've so much individual talent up front, Aguero scores goals like that very often. Riviere isn't going to do that for ye.

Agreed. If you don't get any shots on target in 90 minutes, and the opposition get 5 on target, it's not really credible to say you were the better side. Having said that, Newcastle were very good today. Surprisingly so, if I'm honest. Not too many sides will take away 3 points from there this season.

We did lack upfront and City are always capable even on "off" days.

It's just grating that yet again we didn't get a shred of luck in this fixture.

If I was you, I'd be encouraged with that performance. You pushed us back in that second half. If you can get Riviere to calm down a bit when he gets into promising positions, you've got a very good player. Cabella also impressed me, and Colback had a very good debut. As I said earlier, not too many will leave St James' with all three points this season.

Thought it was a decent performance yesterday, if we'd been a bit more clinical in front of goal it could have been a very different result.

Still not confident in our centre back pairing. Collocini is not getting any better & Williamson is not cut out for this level. Another centre back signing is a must before the close of the window if we're to kick on from last season.
