If a human one will cut through your dogs coat then I would imagine its fine to use, but I remember once trying a human hair clippers (admittedly twas an oldish one) on my dog and it wouldn't cut through his coat at all.

Same here, was using my boyfriend's old clippers as he got new ones, didn't make a dent. So I presume the blades may be different on clippers designed for dogs/animals.

I used to use human clippers on my dog in NZ, they worked a treat.
She's a Bichon x Japanese chin if that helps for coat type.

You never know! You should see the retriever in our park who was clipped last week - my heart would break if a groomer did that to one of my dogs!

    So, which is it OP?
Thread closed until you can convince me by PM that you're not on a weird wind-up.
    Thanks,
