Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I still chuckle to think he will probably make his debut in Turf Moor, no disrespect to Burnley it just seems like it will be such an odd place for a player who was playing with Real Madrid and in a World Cup Final only a couple of weeks ago.

I'm guessing LVG is flying down to Milton Keyes straight from meeting with Di Maria ya? That or he's cloned!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,333 ✭✭✭jonnyfingers

Ok so I'm in Bali on honeymoon with patchy WiFi so haven't really been following the Di Maria speculation. I've also had a few too many Bintang beers and it's 2:40am as I'm staying up to try and stream the match so I'm a bit tired. But I've just seen a picture of Di Maria holding the jersey so I'm like....

    Has this actually happened?

Watch as Anderson bosses the **** out of the game and then takes a 3 month injury in the 70th minute.

    I was assuming it was

    DDG
    Vermijl -Keane---Evans- James
    Anderson---Powell
    Janko
    Kagawa
    Welbeck
    Hernandez

I'd even rather see that formation personally.

You only need to look at the first two
Matches of the season to see moyes wasn't fully to blame. There's a lot of jokers in that deck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,657 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

So he has finally signed. I just so happy and up beat about the future now. A world class player and at a great age, its like im still dreaming. This signing shows the other big clubs that utd are still a powerhouse in the game and this will entice other players to come to our club now. It will be a snowball effect.

Lads does anyone know will there be a news-conference?

Could be something like that maybe, just my take on it.

Would have thought if it was like what you suggest someone like Januzaj or Zaha would surely have gotten a start

This is excellent! Di Maria really is a top class player! Great signing.

That's the 'form an orderly line for the apologies' look!!

Henry Winters (British journalist) said that with 5 mins to go at the Swansea match and the game heading for a loss for United Woody left his seat to leave the stadium and as he left he looked over at the press box and gave a wry smile as if to say wait until you see what I have up my sleave bitches. He certainly produced the goods today, One more with Vidal Ed and were laughing:D

You can keep your FA Cup finals, your World Cup finals and the Champions League anthem blaring out on a Wednesfay night, nothing really compares to second round night in the League Cup.

its still a decent stadium and with real he would have had to play in this tiny thing

There certainly are, but there has been a rash of injuries over those two games on top of Rio, Evra, Giggs and Vidic being gone. Moyes took a team that Ferguson got 8 points from two years running (though yeah, he did get them to perform beyond their level) and was on pace for something like 62 pints, having lost nobody of note.

Moyes didn't get a great team, but he got one worth a sh*te side more than 60-odd points, failed to improve on it partly due to Woodward getting used to things but in large part due to his Fellaini/Baines tunnel vision, and left the team alienated, demoralised and severely lacking in confidence and belief in a way that we arguably had not seen in decades.

He was out of his depth and it showed he had no place at the top level (he is a good midtable manager, mind). It just annoys the hell out of me that for or 10 months now, any time anything to do with the club is mentioned, it is followed with constant excuses for Moyes, typically from pundits and journalists who would be in the correct demographic to be seen as his peer group.

    Bah, rant over!

If it helps him get his fitness up quicker I'm all for it, he's our best CB and we need him back playing in the league sooner rather than later.

Edit: Not to mention he has an awesome left foot for a supposedly right-footed player.

    Come on the Powell

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

... and that is why Powell deserves a run out over Fletcher, Cleverly or Fellaini at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,320 ✭✭✭v3ttel

Any confirmation on the squad number? I've been holding off on the away shirt in the hope we'd sign someone like this.

I presume its 99.9% likely that it'll be #7 but I don't want to order just on the off chance, and end up wasting 60 quid.
