Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Replacing the manager wont help things. A lot of rubbish players at the club due to the previous regime.

It will take time to fix, sacking the manager helps nothing.

Don't bother turning to the Celtic match if you are...it's pretty bad stuff!

I don't mean to be alarmist, but...

We lost to Swansea at Old Trafford and were woeful.

We drew at Sunderland and were woeful.

We're on the verge of losing to MK Dons and have been woeful.

If we lose to Burnley in a similarly insipid fashion, at which point do the fans turn on Van Gaal? I'm not being funny - This cannot go on forever. Are we looking at a Scolari scenario?

I think you're right. We should sack Louis Van Gaal after three games.

Cantona, Roy Keane and Jaap Stam coming on as subs couldn't even save this now, them 6,000 fans are heroes still chanting.

Pereira has been alright since he came on you know, free kick aside.

Game is just highlighting the distinct lack of overall squad quality in recent years, alarms bells were going off when City won 6-1 at old trafford

This transfer window has gone along way correcting it though, and hopefully a couple more to come in

Sure Moyes had 6 points from those 3 league fixtures last year. Bring him back.

Seriously do you just look at the result and take zero other factors into the equation?
Like the fact on Sunday v sunderland 3 of the outfield 10 would be in the first choice 11 when everyone is fit, and even of those 3 Van Persie was not match fit.

Or tonight, sure people on social media are going have a bit of a laugh at the fact we spent so much money today but didn't beat MK Dons, but it would take a very weak minded person to actually be convinced it has any relevance. How much game time are Janko Keane James Perreira Powell Anderson etc. actually going to get.

    Get a grip man!

What is really annoying me about this game is LVG is just sitting back in his seat - not moving, not twitching... if I was managing that team I would be on the sideline bashing the ears off all 11 of those players.

Could we give it a shot? Someone get David May a jersey.

I didn't say that he should be sacked after three games. I didn't even say that he should be sacked after four games.

But does there come a point where it is looked at? Eight games? Ten games? Christmas? Like, all joking aside, we're a f..king shambles.

That doesn't help. It might make the coach feel better and manager feel like he is "doing something" but it doesn't help in any way at all. Guys like Benitez who play charades on the side lines only embarrass themselves.

    In all fairness there wasn't.

You just posted a number. Without an interpretation it's pretty useless.

    For example:

What would you expect the goals to minutes ratio to look like for a **** player who had a hot streak at the start of his time in a league?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,171 ✭✭✭dor843088

In fairness, we are playing the youth team

Anderson, kagawa ,de gea ,welbeck, hernandes . Theres a lot of money in the players I just mentioned both paid for and potential value.

Guys like Wellbeck, Evans and Chicharito are there so it's not really fair to say that it's a youth team.

I thought that one of Van Gaal's selling points is how he gets more out of players. So far they've looked as bad if not worse than they did under David Moyes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,061 ✭✭✭irishfeen

Anderson, Welbeck & Hernandez are fairly septic nowadays ... should be moved on sooner rather then later..

How is Michael Keane still even at the club? You think that shambolic display against Chelsea a couple of years ago would have ended his time here but nope.

There was, without question. Not a whole lot but your post had so little its not hard to top it.

You said he is totally out of his depth at the top level, has a "lucky spell" and had now returned to the drain and backed this up with zero stats. It was all your opinion.

Would you like to answer my question about what your stats show or do you want to just pat yourself on the back for posting a screengrab someone else took of Sky Sports for a few more posts?

The lack of desire and industry from the team is the worst part of this. The young players should at least look like they want to make the step up to the first team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,200 ✭✭✭✭RobbingBandit

It's hard not to be so negative seeing this but do you know what is truly terrifying this is the future of the club we are seeing here, these youth team players are all we have got. :(

    Where are the green shoots?

Where is the "Van Gaal factor"?

Why is he just sitting there like Buddha and not up giving out yards to the players?

How have Vermij & Keane managed to stay at the club so long? Not like there that young anymore
