Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Totally agree, I'll be half depressed but if we stand back even now the window has been very productive -

    Ander Herrera, Athletic Bilbao £29.0m
Angel di Maria, Real Madrid £59.7m
    Marcos Rojo, Sporting Lisbon £16.0m
    Luke Shaw, Southampton £27.0m

    £131.7/€165 million so far

I assume Ian Ladyman being from the Daily Mail makes him not very reliable in the first place?

    X-men first class on e4
    J law looking class
    She'd be superb in midfield

Isn't Ladyman one of the more reliable journalists?

When you put it like that, it has been a decent enough window for us. The squad's still lacking in places, which really worries me.

Going after Carvalho would indicate the Vidal deal isn't looking likely, of the little I've seen of Carvalho if he continues improving on the same track he's going to be a star.

The greedy side of me wants Carvalho and Vidal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,597 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

Maybe we can give them Anderson as a token gesture like we did with Nani.

Someone tell me amazing things about Carvalho so I'm not upset when we sign him over Vidal!

Ah Fu*k it Ed just sign em both!

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,061 ✭✭✭irishfeen

Ha I see all the Agents and lads who make up transfer stuff are almost immediately backtracking on Vidal being a done deal as "Madrid get involved"

I am getting a feeling this Carvalho interest could be a negotiating tactic with Juve for Vidal!

I feel more positive about United when I read LVG wants to offload Cleverley.

Probably what held up the transfer yesterday, wasn't image rights, Di Maria saying he would only play in midfield if TC23 is transferred, given he has high standards to maintain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,346 ✭✭✭✭homerjay2005

Carvalho is another non finished article or "potential" signing.

He is build link a tank, a bit like YaYa but also seems a bit awkward. very similar player to De jong in terms of what he offers the team, ive not been that impressed with him so far in the 5 or 6 games that i saw him play in.

Its a bigout lay when what we really need is a creative force in CM that can dictate a game and control it.i dont think Carvalho is that player.

Well its either that or United have pulled out over injury fears with Vidal (very possible) ... which would be no fault of United.

Or he feels he can't risk paying all that money for Vidal when he has doubts over that infamous knee.

Van Gaal just would not have said "Messi and Vidal" like that unless we are in for Vidal...

He's tackled more players in the clip than our midfield so far this season. Sign him up

I would be delighted with Carvahlo from what I have seen of him, and he should only get better. Getting him in now if vidal is not possible, or **** it, getting both in now would be the job

Personally I be disappointed to see Welbeck go.

Yes, I know only too well how much I have slagged him in past.

His attitude though IMO is excellent. He is a trier and even though I rip my hair out when watch him at times Ido think he deserves another season.

    Evra long lost brother??

evra has 24 (yes 24!) siblings so it probably is

as evra said "My father, he didn't watch the television..."

We should really be looking to sign Carvalho and Vidal. Herrera never impressed me for Bilbao either. Carvalho has always looked good and Vidal is the best CM around.

Is there a chance Sporting are leaking this to get Arsenal to up their offer?

No Ducker, Ogden and Ladyman would be talking to the club directly.

In all honesty though Kew is he good enough for United in the quest of winning English/European trophies? - that really is up for debate, attitude is great and admirable but might not be enough..

LVG is going to do a good job.

He is going to do the heavy lifting and makes the changes that have been needed for a while now, if we look at what he has already done and what the rumours suggest he wants to do.

Next 4 days will decide our season, it should be busy.
