Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Should have been a free in there.

If that was a red, shouldn't Buckley for Kerry have got a red for attempting to strike the opponent with his fist immediately beforehand? A strike is a strike.

No way the ref would've seen the closed fist, I doubt it was noticed on first viewing by anyone. The kick wasn't even close though.

The worry is now that the ref will take some fairly moderate Kerry infringement and hand out a red card to balance things up..

That James O'Donoghue lad gets some power in his kicks.. He's a class act.

That's always a worry, but this game looks over, even though this looks to be poorest Kerry team I've ever seen.

Cheers for that suggestion, it was in response to the claim that an accidental bump to the head on AOS should have been a red.

Oh, so you were being sarcastic.

Or have you just rowed back on your 'opinion' now that you have got absolutely no support for it?

I think the Keegan red card really highlights the lack of refereeing consistancy and is why people are angry at the decision.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,246 ✭✭✭✭Dyr

Yeah ref getting a dose of red card remorse now

Surely the linesman would've spotted it?

I'd have to look at it again, but I thought it was the ball he went to punch out of the players hand?

Well the ref has definitely given Mayo a few soft frees at start of this half. So maybe he is trying to 'even it up'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 699 ✭✭✭PaddyCar

Mayo getting some very handy frees now

Referee finally stopping the pulling and dragging - Mayo going for the Kerry backs now.

Two Kerry kickouts Mayo have won in a row

Dont know why Mayo are continuing to walk themselves into pressure. Running into men constantly.

Mayo can't afford to waste chances like that

    Sheehan on for M Geaney

It wasn't an opinion, or sarcasm, I'm guessing you don't know what either one means. It was a statement of fact, AOS kicked JoD in the chest, nothing to row back on. I never said he should have been carded or sent off.

Kerrys kickouts have been woeful in last few minutes. Let Mayo back into it with awful kickouts.

If you think that's a kick, go watch the soccer on the other channel, plenty of 'someone think of the children' crap there.

Again, not one person here supports your 'opinion' (because it sure isn't a fact).

Some second half in fairness. Different game altogether.

But either team will need to keep this up for 70 mins against Dublin in the final.

Ref being a bit lenient towards Mayo.this half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,775 ✭✭✭✭Slattsy

Surely the linesman would've spotted it?

Not necessarily. Sure the time between whistle blowing and that hit would be minimal.
I'd have to look at it again, but I thought it was the ball he went to punch out of the players hand?

Can easily get away with that excuse.

A lot of people saying the ref should use common sense. So easy to blame the ref, why didn't the player use common sense?

    Brilliant second half though.
