New Yorker Jeffrey Lewis is a comic book artist and a musician. With
his current band project The Jrams, he moves from acoustic narratives
to head-smashing garage rock and his decade-plus career has included
shows with the Vaselines, Stephen Malkmus, the Mountain Goats, Devo
and Pulp. His music mixes 60’s acoustic psychedelia with experimental
art-punk. Jeffrey sometimes performs illustrated songs covering
history, horror or porn. He has released six albums on Rough Trade
Records and his work has been featured by the History Channel, the
New York Times, the Guardian, NPR and elsewhere. At thirty-three,
his profile has never been higher. His album of Crass covers,
presenting anarcho-punk in a pastoral setting, was universally
praised by critics. When the movie adaptation of Alan Moore’s
Watchmen was released, he dusted off his college thesis for a series
of lectures and an appearance on Newsnight Review, sharing some of
    the insights
gained in a lifetime reading and writing comics. Jeffrey Lewis is a
truly deserving talent with amazing stories to tell. He's carved a
great little space for himself in the world, and he works HARD. He’s
never toured at a loss, and his DIY methods of living his musical
career allow him great liberties. He is comfortable sleeping on
people’s floors when on tour, and happily books himself and manages
himself (with some help from his brother/bass player Jack). He
publishes his own comics, keeps meticulous and legendary to-do lists,
    and epitomizes DIY.
