Don't buy it guys, go and buy the N6 for 700 quid or the Iphone 6 plus for a grand, well worth your money, this is just a cheap phone for 350 EUR that does exactly the same as the N6 and the Iphone 6 :D:D:D.

I have this weird notification like beeping noise on my OPO. When it starts its constant until I lock the screen. Any ideas?

    :(
so have this phone three weeks....its awesome! cannot fault it..that is until this morning when i installed cm11 lollipop theme from playstore...installed fine but then i get a warning screen telling me my lock screen failed to initialise...!!
For love nor money i couldn't get rid of it..so i painstakingly had to go into settings by hitting ok on the warning screen and using the split second i had before the warning flashed again....
Then when i get into settings the phone reboots..

So then i read on xda about clearing the cache and doing a factory reset...done so and now the phone gets to the welcome screen where u choose which language and then it reboots...and reboots...stuck in a loop..
I've seen plenty of posts online but I'm not tech savvy enough to follow them...balls :( i'm so afraid i'll brick it !!

dude i can't get across how useless i am....! this is massive outta my comfort zone!! Can u be more specific....i don't mean that to come across as I'm being a smart ass....!!
All i read online is about command prompt, fast boot, side loaders, debugging...bootloaders...all double dutch to me !!

I've been experiencing an intermittent crash over the last while, just wondering if anyone has noticed anything similar.

Basically the phone completely locks up when typing into the address bar in chrome. Completely unresponsive.

Now the notification icon animation is still going e.g. data arrows, but the phone is completely unresponsive & can only be recovered by holding down the power button.

Sometimes it can happen twice in a few mins, but mostly it's every few days. I'm using Swype, the flux theme & twilight so it could be a combination of any of these or more likely just Chrome at fault.

Anyone have any similar experiences? I've enabled back button kill option to see if I can recover next time without a reboot. Tried clearing cache, but I'd prefer not to have to clear chrome data entirely. Having yo re-login to every site is a massive pain.

Wondering can anyone help me out with this. My OPO will only connect to the 2G network on tesco. All APN settings seems correct but it will not connect to the network.

Got a new micro sim and it is working in other phone but not in OPO. Date enabled on and data roaming on.

Phone is out of the box. Got it delivered to germany but i doubt that should make any difference as it is the internation version.

Thinking of just selling it because i'm getting annoyed with the hassle.

I can't imagine you will be able to sell it very easily if it doesn't connect to anything buy 2G you don't want to be selling on a faulty phone. I would take it into a Tesco mobile shop and see if they can figure it out and if not go about returning it.

I've got an OPO on Tesco mobile 3G works grand - better than my Moto G. I've attached my APN for what's it's worth. I have my preferred network type set to 3G

Would'nt be selling on a faulty phone. Would be selling on a phone just out of the box shipped direct from oneplus:rolleyes:

I cannot get it to connect to tesco. That does not mean someone else cannot

lol if only companies never shipped faulty products! Did you make sure you have all the same settings as digitaldr?

    Thanks for that.

    I have two apn's

The tesco mobile interent apn which is selected with the green button beside it.

Below this is the MMS APN but i cannot select this.

The first apn did not have the setting this your one does so i entered them manually and saved. The second apn has the same settings as yours but i cannot select this.

After entering settings still will not connect to 4g preferred or 3g preferred.

The other phone which i am using the same settings as you will connect but there is only one apn (tesco mobile internet), not two like mine.

Would the original setup of the phone make a difference? Since i set it up without a sim in and pretty much skipped all steps with google accounts and the like. Would that make a difference? Is there a factory reset option?

Do you know anyone that would let you borrow their micro sim from another network so you can see if its just a tesco problem or a general problem? Strange to have such different settings than digitaldr. Maybe try a factory reset and enter the same settings they have.

Is there any programs to backup photos etc before doing a reset?

I always copy them over to computer first better safe than sorry! I think any of the cloud apps do that dropbox, onedrive, googledrive etc should all do the job.

Googles own photos app that auto uploads any pictures or videos I take.
It should be preinstalled on your phone. You have to open the app and tell it to auto upload your pictures.

seem to have the phone working now with tesco and a solid signal.

Done a factory reset and again no joy. The difference was when i connected to my wifi and went into phone settings and downloaded and installed all updates.

    Signal has not dropped since

I bought the phone primarily for the camera and to use the gps in the car. Camera is pretty good and have taken some decent shots with it so far.

Have not have a chance yet to do anything with gps

Phone is very high quality and fluid. Dont think it is overly big as some were commenting.

I'll use it more and see how it goes. Happy so far. Battery life very good

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,810 ✭✭✭✭jimmii

The camera really is superb. Its interesting to be able to save the raw files and be able to see the difference in what you normally get. The amount of settings etc you can play with is unreal! The battery too really is superb can't remember the last time i had a phone that didn't need to be charged nightly!!

I got lucky and managed to pick one of these up on adverts yesterday(other gut had it a week), really impressed the quality of everything has blown me away. Any suggestions for things I should do as a new owner? I'm fairly tech savvy although its ages since I rooted anything!

Sorry, I dont have time to read all the posts here, which provider has the best 4G package at the moment? that will work with the one plus.

My fixed Oneplus one arrived in the parcel motel up the north yesterday at 12pm. How long does it usually take to get down south? I live in Kerry so Tralee is my destination.

Mine arrived in Dublin first thing in the morning the day after I got the email from them so it shouldn't be long.

I doubt anyone is going to have used them all and be able to compare. I use eMobile in Dublin and it works great. I think if you are outside of Dublin you are going to need to look into the coverage more as its not great outside the main population areas with any network I don't think.

From what I've read Vodafone doesn't work on 4G as although they could use one of the opo supported bands they haven't to date.

Cyanogenmod has so many features that I haven't felt the need to root.

This is what I had in my head, It does work on the three network, does it not.
Has anyone any experience with this. i am out of contract this week and I am looking to get the best out of the phone.

According to the Vodafone rep on another thread the OPO works on Vodafone 4G:

I can't post a URL but if you search for "one plus one compatibility" on boards it's the first result.

Oh I am having great fun with NFC tags, and this phone. Anyone else using them?

I've got one in the car to turn on bluetooth and maps. One by the front door to turn up ringtone volumes (turns them down again on the way out). One at my desk at work to silence everything and divert to work phone.

And, one by the cooker, to send a text when dinner is ready. *chuckle*

I've started getting an issue where the coverage drops and I need to reboot to get a signal back.

Mother and sister on same network and have no problems.

    Anyone else getting it?

does the phone have to be unlocked for them to read in as thats the default on stock android.

What NFC tags are you using and what NFC programming app? It's something I'm interested in playing around with.

I'm using some old tags i got ages ago, not sure where they came from, but they are bog standard cheapo ones.

I'm using tagstand writer, trigger and tasker (tasker is the only paid one, you don't need it, it's pretty funky though with what you can configure.).

    Ignore previous rant.

Backup and running now on XNPH38R with TWRP installed and rooted

When the phone is in my pocket it constantly tries to unlock and hits the emergency dialler. For some reason it only started happening yesterday is there a setting I can change to stop it being so responsive or anything? It had been fine up until now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,207 ✭✭✭maximoose

Just got a chinese version today, love it so far.

Idiot question time now though, is there any danger of me plugging my 0.7A Samsung charger into the phone until I get an adapter at lunch time? Don't want to be blowing it up on my first day :pac:

    And does any adapter work?

Or actually, can I just buy any 2.1A charger and use it? See the blackberry playbook ones recommended earlier in thread

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,309 ✭✭✭✭wotzgoingon

It should be alright, as when it is plugged into a usb socket on computer there is less current than 1 Amp being drawn. Will take longer to charge though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,513 ✭✭✭digitaldr

For fast charging I'd recommend the blackberry one. , 0.7 amp one should work ok but it'll be slow. AFAIK the phone will only draw the current it needs so using a charger > 2.1 amp should be fine, lower rating one just means slower charging.

There's loads of good themes for it, some are paid for on the play store but I've found that often there's a free xda version.

I've noticed mine dialing on the emergency keypad when listening to music, haven't noticed it any other time

Use/enable privacy mode in settings, it restricts default app permissions on install

Not really an Cyanognen must do but I can say that perfectly clear is amazing. if you need to take a load of burst shots * 250 * then its worth it for it. It is a premium app though I managed to wangle it, I think using my amazon coins. I could have just bought it though.
