Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm looking for a milk frothing jug like this one:

    $_12.JPG

but not having much luck in the shops in Dublin.

Closest I could find was a milk cream jug in Arnotts for around €20.
    Recommend anywhere else to look?

I saw lots of ceramic Cream Jugs... would these be just as good? Does it need to be a particular shape?

I only want the small size as in the pic, in order to steam enough milk for one or two cappuccinos.

    Thanks

Can you access Musgraves or another cash & carrry? they have them in their catering section. Not sure of the price.
Alternatively any catering supplier would have them

Not really, I'm city centre. There's got to be somewhere selling these in the capital city

Im on the look out as well. Anything ive seen is silly money for a jug.
Im using a ceramic one at the moment and its hit and miss.

I wonder would they be in any of the cheap Euro shops????

They are cheap on Amazon. Use Parcel Motel. Should come in under a tenner

I've been looking for one too and they're surprisingly hard to come by at a decent price.
    Ikea actually have the best I've seen, it's a 500ml one for €6. http://m.ikea.com/ie/en/catalog/products/art/50149843/

I guess this is what I'd be looking for: http://www.sweeneyorourke.com/ebstore/so/product.asp?p_part_code=13221

    or the 300ml one?

Not sure how much I'd need for one cappuccino though.

If you're interested in doing latte art or anything, I wouldn't recommend the one in sweeney rourkes. I got a similar one to that and it didn't work for me as It has a curved rim around the top which affected the pouring of the milk and often ran down the side of the jug

Right. I may be popping over to IKEA at the weekend so can check out the one there... mad that these are so hard to find.

Know anywhere I can get glass saucers to go with my glass cappuccino cups? All the ones I've seen appear to come with a matching cup.

Ceramic ones will not heat up nearly as quickly, so its much harder to gauge if its the right temp. Some people use thermometers but lots just hold it by the body of the jug, not the handle, and feel for when its hot enough.

Are the 500ml stainless steel ones too large for heating up a single serving?

I require it for a Cappuccino not a Latte.. I think a 300ml would be better

I have 1 500 ml jug and 2 250 ml jars (i think or at least around 250 ml) and I never use the 500 ml, I always use either my 250 ml jars for my cappuccini

If you're making coffee for 2, the consider the 500ml, it'll easily make 1 cup though if you have a proper steam wand.
The ones in Sweeny O'Rourke are fine for latte art too, and what they have in there are the same as the one in your original post, the image on the site is wrong.

Got sorted for the saucers at Sweeny O'Rourke, plus some other bits n pieces, although they said it's not the norm to buy direct from them as they deal in wholesale mainly.

I was buying a few things on Amazon so ended up getting the milk frother there in the end!

Yeah they don't mind walk ins which is nice. I've been buying off of them for about 7 years now and I've not had any issues.
