Can any one tell why KCC refused the motorway services earlier this month. Are they trying to keep Kilkenny in the 20th century or what.

Interesting problem, how does one get rid of a council who is set on keeping it's citizens in the dark ages?
The recent election appears to have been of absolutely useless promises, it is like it never took place.
We are having a CAS which many feel will be detrimental to the city, we have an uncompleted ring road and low and behold no motorway services, one could throw in a lack of Tesco, an unpedestrianised high street, plus verbal threats regarding local taxation.
Democracy, perhaps I am missing something, though I note protestors have gone very quiet, one wonders why.

Didn't the NRA have plans for an online service area near Bagenalstown/Paulstown?

The Kilcullen service area is under construction at the moment but afaik there is no public announcement for other M9 service areas, however it's possible KCC are privy to something that's in the pipeline for the future. Perhaps if an online service area is anticipated in a few years they decided a offline one was unnecessary.

The Bagenalstown / Paulstown Service Area between J6 and J7 was supposed to be Type 2, i.e. Parking and Toilets, which IMO should be at least a fuel / coffee stop. Makes you wonder about KCC. Hope the appeal is successful.

Perhaps we need to use a little mussel?
