GW rank of 114k with 65 taking me from 920k overall to 284k.

Ranking mightn't mean much this early but it's nice to be considerably closer to 1 than 3,076,337 .....

61 points, 130 total whch I'm very happy with. Usually much slower starter. Pity my main rival in our steak and a pint bet hit 86 to bring his total to 145!

Would like to bank my transfer this week but worried the guys I want to shift will drop if I leave it. I think I preferred it when I hadn't really much of a grasp on team value!

Slight drop back from 52k to 54k but there's nothing in it at this stage. Only 10 points off the top 10k, much better than last season. Captain choice could prove crucial this weekend with no clear option. Could also do with some differentials like Larsson and Van Aanholt getting me a decent return!

This is a very frustrating game, I consider myself a decent enough player but I'm 87 points behind the world leader already(and I only have 86 points:pac:)

I think people are posting their total scores because it's showing how even the smallest of gaps can mean a huge difference in the standings at this early stage.

For example, just looking at your positioning, I'm on 123 points and am at 76k but you are 3 points ahead of me and are 26k places better off. A lad in my work league has one point more than you but is 10k places ahead of you.

86 is a pretty shocking start but you can definitely kick on with the right group of players. Don't be afraid to wildcard early.

Totally, im 11 points ahead of you (won't last :pac:) and in 11,879.

11 points can evaporate very quickly - mad to think it's 64k places at present.

A quick look tells me 8 points more = into 2,200 place and 14 more = top 600.

15 points less drops me 115k places to 125k.

Very condensed at present.

Finished on 57 for the GW. My 8-point hit yielded a 1 point surplus within the first GW of making it, which was satisfying.

58 & 57 (-8) leaves me on 107. Wouldn't be disheartened if could hit those scores most weeks, but I'm not too happy with the rankings. Just outside 500k and there's a 24 point gap to the top in my money league, and our teams are already starting to look similar.

It sure can, my new strategy is to look at someone 4 points below me in a league and see what drop a transfer hit will cause.

From someone that was trigger happy before, it's certainly helping me restrain.

Not fond of that logic at all. The only gameweek you should apply that to is the final gameweek, because that's the ranking that matters. Nobody will care what place you were in after GW3. At the end of the season if you're aiming for 10k, I'd say a 4 point hit would cost you about 2k positions max. (Plus the hit might make you a gain in the long run). Far too much emphasis on gameweek ranking in here early on this year.

Maybe you missed the logic:
It's a means for me to question any hits I'm taking or planning to take.
I'm not overly caught up in what position I'm at this stage.

I'll take points hits but I'll make sure to put as much thought into them as possible as opposed to my knee jerk reaction last year. Quantifying what a 4 point hit will result in in any week will assist me with that.

I don't think people are getting carried away with their positions so far, but I do see many people getting carried away with transfers/wildcards.

Sorry I probably didn't explain myself properly there! What I meant is you should quantify the effect of the four point hit you're taking now in the context of the effect it will have on your final position, not in the context of the effect it will have on your current position. Dropping 100k positions now doesn't really matter 'cause at the end of the season 4 points won't have a big effect on your position. Just my opinion but sure we all apply different logics in FF that's what makes the game so interesting.
