I reckon you might be spot on with those starting teams, Fernando instead of Fernandinho the only one I'd say might be different

Think we've a good record against City recently. Not a bad time to play them either as they're still getting warmed up. A re-run of the prestigious international champions cup game, 2-2.

Not sure why people think we can catch city on the hop tonight they won their opening games at home the past few years 4-0, 3-2,4-0,3-0.

They're not particularly slow starters and they'll be up for this tonight given how close we ran them last year. I hope for a draw but i'm not sure a lot will depend on how we line up. If its Gerrard and Lucas together I'd worry for us in midfield but who knows. I'll go 4-1 Liverpool

Can't see us getting anything from tonight, think a comfortable 2-0 to city

I'm lost. Are people still doing jinx results?

City have a stronger team but I reckon Liverpool will get the win.
Sterling/Sturridge to score for Liverpool. Hendo to put in another top performance

Is there a Monday night motd for this ?

Would not be shocked if Liverpool won this, but I think City might just have little bit too much class tonight.

Hard to know how Liverpool will do this season, they might have take step back this season to go two forward next imo. Liverpool have been impressive in Transfer market. Rodgers is showing he is a good manager and his calmness is impressing me. Seems very focused and assured he knows what he is doing.

City I think will be looking at Europe this season. Think they want to put few things right here. They now have that 2nd all important League Crown in 3 seasons and they now dont have the question marks they used to.

It could be any score tonight, but I will side with Blues win 2-1.

Very hard to predict, obviously if we play like we did against Southampton we'll be gooshed.

    1-1.

The same could be said of City. If City defend like they did last week against Newcastle Liverpool could easily win. If Newcastle had any composure in front of goal they could have won they game, they carved the City defence apart quiet a lot.

You are off your rocker, they didn't have one shot on target. City's defense is way more solid than you give it credit for.

Cautiously confident of a City win. Would be a great start for us. I suspect it'll be Aguero and Dzeko starting up front for us

Balotelli, said he had made an error leaving England on in January 2013.

"I'm happy to be back because I left England and it was a mistake," he said. "I didn't want to go to Italy, but I made a mistake." "I put McDonalds into the SatNav but accidently typed Milan instead of Manchester"

I like the look of that Liverpool team. Looking forward to seeing Moreno. Lots of energy in midfield. Will it be Coutinho in behind Sterling and Sturridge?

I'd say we'll need Fernando to have a better game than he had last week at Newcastle. Otherwise, happy enough with that team. Aguero not being rushed back is a good thing I suppose.

Happy with that starting team. Had a feeling Manquilo would be the fella to make way.

Hoping for a good game from Allen.

    Why no Mangala?

Not match fit, although I don't know why. Would be a bit of a big ask for him to debut in this game too in fairness.

Starting to see Liverpool's growing strength in depth. Lallana and Balotelli to be added to the below. Then you have the likes of Agger, Lucas and Suso still around.

Jones, Manquillo, Sakho, Toure, Can, Markovic, Lambert.

OK I'll watch this instead. 5 minutes into the Madrid match and I'm already depressed by Ronaldo's hilarious diving. Hoping Liverpool and City will provide a more sporting display.

Rodgers on MNF: "behaviour is very important here".

He forgot to add "as long as you're not Suarez". :pac:

Decent line up from both sides. So glad that Lucas is not starting. If he is not in the squad could he be possibly leaving??

I'll probably feel like drinking 10 cans after this game. Doesn't really matter what the result is

I'd take a draw out of this depending on how it goes.

Nothing wrong with coming away from here tonight with a point in the bag.

Although a win in this fixture last year would have been the difference at the end of the season.

I'd be delighted with a draw now. Liverpool simply have to play better than last week though or they could get a pasting.

City need to up it massively from there previous two games to win here. Yaya has looked lazy and well off his best. Liverpool were poor enough against Southampton but will perform better when fully fired up for a big game.
