Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Moreno looks good going forward but not great defensively.

Yeah first I've seen of him tonight, definitely looks short defensively

Sure it'll take time to adjust

That goal will make for a cracking second half, plenty more goals in this game

Pretty even game in terms of bare stats

    53% Ball Possession 47%
    4 Goal Attempts 5
    2 Shots on Goal 1
    2 Shots off Goal 1
    0 Blocked Shots 3

There were another 30 mins before that

It would have been against the run of play if we scored 15-20 mins ago... City pretty much dominating the last while

    Coutinho has been truly awful

Defender should head up at away in the box never to feet

I think that was the only play on the ball he had though. It was either that, or just stand the attacker up.

Have to see it again though, but I definitely don't think Lovren had an opportunity to get any power or alternative direction on the ball.

Second game in a row Coutinho is offering nothing. Never mind Johnson, id take him off first.

Liverpool have played fairly well for the most part but one mistake at the back is often punished at this level.

    Coutinho has been truly awful

I know Liverpool fans rate him but his good games a very few and far between

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,315 ✭✭✭Soft Falling Rain

Hard to take going into HT 1-0 down given the run of play but them are the breaks in this league, utterly unforgiving.

I'd hold firm and persist as things are but I'd be looking to take Coutinho off first. Not doing it again and was letting frustration get the better of him towards the end there.

Very much so. Overrated in my opinion. Will never be a great player

Liverpool need a kick up the arse in this.

They've been the better side for the majority of that half, city looked like the away side for the first half hour.

New Brazilian coach seems to rate him as well

Dunno why LFC supporters are taking this so hard, 2nd game of the season against one of the two likely champions. One poor moment is the difference. That's all. City are no great sheikhs

I hope Dalglish isn't wearing his "Luis Suarez YNWA" t-shirt near Balotelli. Awkward.

Liverpool have played well for the most part but there's a palpable lack of threat about them. Maybe I'm just imagining it.

He's definitely a bit of a homer currently, which is something he and the club has to address.

    Oh, I don't know!

Sturridge coming back to midfield to get the ball. We dont have any cutting edge at all despite good buildup and threatening around the box.

I was worried Moreno would make a costly mistake tonight . he made a very rash challenge on Zab and just missed him before his mistake for the goal. Very disappointing error from a player of his standard

Lacking that spark. When's Suarez due on?

    Oh yeah. :(

    Can't deny we're clinical.

Weirdly optimistic, have to come out to play now. Markovic for Coutinho on 63mins

This Liverpool team is actually very good. Both teams look rusty in the final third but this is the champions away from home and we're matching them. (On play not score!)

Lallana and Balotelli for Allen and Coutinho, and Sterling and Sturridge on form (both v average so far) and we'll be even better. Disappointing right now, yes, but I think this team could do well this year.

Sorry. I've only come in for just before the goal, thought they were rubbish. Have been filled in. Should have asked before shooting my mouth off.

Sometime near the end of October, I believe.

Unlucky to concede. That's what City can do though. Always dangerous.

Liverpool playing well but not threatening enough, especially from dead ball situations. I reckon Man City can close this out. Need a big 2nd half performance here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,587 ✭✭✭✭Dont be at yourself

Still think Liverpool will win this 2 or 3 nil.

Watched the first half on my iPhone. So missed some detail. Who was the Liverpool defender that didn't come for the ball that Jovetic got on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

"Moreno caught out by the pace of the league"

Yes because no other league in the world has any pace in whatsoever. Sky's hype machine alive and well.

Even funnier given he's played well.

Hmm... Looking at it again, Lovren might have been able to put that one out for a corner, in hindsight.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,984 ✭✭✭Soups123

Even funnier given he's played well.

He's been poor defensively, Zabaleta getting behind at will

    Aguero would have buried that

Edit: and then got injured for about 6 months
