Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Gaya booked for coming on early, such a ****ing stupid rule

    Ronaldo's missed a bit of a sitter.

Valencia deserve to be level. Madrid haven't done much of note all game. Very cynical at times. Can't see this finishing with all eleven players on both teams. Valencia are their own worst enemies. Flying undisciplined into silly challenges.

Real fully deserving to be ahead at half time. Game has gone to Valencia's heads with all their stupid tackles. Good game management from Real so far.

    Barragan: Goal Machine.

Amunt! Would love it, love it, if Valencia beat this horrible team.

Why are Madrid a horrible team.

Because they are the only team who get penalties, or dive, or spend money. Haven't you heard?

Pepe and Ramos alone says enough. Combine that with their horrible attitude (admittedly lessened since Mourinho left), their constant favour by the referees.

    Goool!! Get in!

Yes but compared to Barca they are saints.

Valencia have done much better since they got their heads right. Great goal though.

    What a miss!

Jaysus. That would have been goal of the year within 4 days if Barragan could have finished. Magic stuff.

Awful miss, should have squared it for 3-1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

    Awful dive from Negredo there.

Strange refereeing; so strict, even by Spanish standards. Giving frees and yellow cards for everything.

Reffing has been a joke in this game. Would love to see Valencia win it but Madrid fans will rightly be able to whinge about some of these decisions, that yellow for Carvajal an example.

How has that affected the scoreline?
On the other hand, Real have scored another dubious penalty.

Marca will find some way to complain if they do lose though.

    Otamendi man of the match.

    Fantastic performance.

Run had to end sometime. Not quite at it, especially 45th to 70th minute.

Otamendi is having some season. Cannot see Valencia holding onto him.

Fully deserved by Valencia. Got their heads about them in that second half.

Can't really agree with remarks about Madrid being a horrible team. The contrast between losing under Mourinho and Ancellotti is startling. Couldn't really even hint at sore losers here.

Interestingly Barca, for all I criticise them, are the only team of the title contenders to beat Valencia at the Mestalla. They now have the chance to go top.

Hopefully Moyes can make it interesting.

Now they have the backing of Peter Lim, they have no reason to sell him.

If they get into the Champions League, he'll be more likely to stay.

Not really. After Pepe lost it against Getafe, he shouldn't be allowed play the game again, 10 games was nowhere near enough.

Probably a bit OTT from me there to say horrible to be fair (maybe a feeling that's remained since they were actually horrible under Jose); I should possibly ban myself from posting during Valencia games :pac:. Thought I was going to have a heart attack in the last 15 minutes there. Real are the team I most like to see beaten though, maybe better to put it like that! And they do have some very dislikable characters.

Amazing performances all over the pitch from Valencia. The failing of the team for years now has been a lack of consistency, and again it's hard to believe this is the same group who were so spineless against Granada less than a month ago. Alves, Otamendi, Orban, Gaya, Perez, Negredo... all warriors today.
Hopefully Nuno can start to get something close to this from the team against the smaller sides week-in, week-out. No good winning today and losing to Celta next weekend.

Eibar 2-0 up away against Espanyol.

Team of the season so far in La Liga

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,818 ✭✭✭Bateman

Eibar are having some season, they'll be looking at signing Athletic's best players the way things are going!

Luis Enrique has gambled tonight. Away at the Anoeta, Barcelona start without Alves, Pique, Neymar or Messi. It's a make or break move, if it goes wrong the Catalan press will be merciless in the morning. A golden opportunity tonight in the Basque country for the Blaugrana.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,694 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

Still 2007 since Barcelona won at Sociedad and it was where the great run a couple of seasons ended iirc. Not a place to gamble.

Or a golden opportunity for the Chosen One to make a name for himself in Spain...

Still not convinced by Luis Enrique.....if this goes wrong tonight he will get pilloried.

It'll be interesting to see Suarez as the main man through the middle.

Unfortunate. Lucho's team selection had made no difference though

I haven't watched much of Suarez this season but from the bits I have it seems he is incompatible with the way Barca play

Real Madrid would suit him a lot better

Was just thinking that, he'd fit in perfectly at Madrid.

Penalty! Penalty! Handball! It's way more a penalty than the one Madrid got earlier yet the team in Blaugrana doesn't get it, it's no coincidence.

Liverpool's frenzied counter attacking is why he was so good imo and it's completely different to the way Barca play

Sociedad already getting 10 men behind the ball

Real park the bus job from Moyes here. It's working well though, Barca haven't created anything clear cut yet and Socidead have had a couple of threatening breaks.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,832 ✭✭✭✭Blatter

Farcical decision from the ref there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,207 ✭✭✭miralize

Barca are still in a training match apparently. Sloppy, no direction & no intensity. It may not be luchos fault the goal went in, but he is out of depth...
